Chapter 35: Whitebolts Origin II

In the middle of the city of Limasse is a giant, luxurious white castle. This is the place where the royal family of Nissel is. Limasse is the capital.
The prince went to the gate. They opened and the guards all stood in a line.
-Welcome back, prince Emnei!
The prince waved his hand to them and entered the castle. The place was so lavish, most furniture was golden.
-I will go meet my parents, you take the boy to your place. – Said the prince.
The adventurer nodded and they parted ways. Botan went to one of the rooms. He laid Kenji on his bed.
-He has such weird hair. – Thought Botan.
He started caressing Kenjis hair.
-Such a frail body...
His hands started to go lower, onto the boys shoulders. Kenji started to open his eyes. He felt the big man in front of him touching his neck and shoulders. He got scared and screamed.
-Who are you!
Botan didn't panic.
-Do you remember what happened? – He asked in a heavy tone.
-What?
-Answer me.
-I was with Haru. We were running and... I read something and... - His head hurt and he put his hand on it.
-What you read was a magic scroll, and a strong one too. You read it and received powers. The scroll costed 2 platinum coins, but our prince paid for it.
Kenji got worried.
-Why am I here? – He said in a frail voice.
-We made a deal with your father that you would become a warrior, in exchange, he won't pay anything.
-That's unfair! I didn't choose this! Why were you even touching me? – Kenjis eyes started to tear up.
-I was examining you. You chose this fate when you read the words written on the seal. Want to look in the mirror.
Kenji stood up. His stared at himself in shock as he pulled his hair.
-Why is it yellow?
Botan sat down.
-It's probably the side effects of the scroll not working properly. After you are a... Little boy.
-What is going to happen to me? – Kid turned around terrified.
-I am going to train you until the prince decides you are strong enough. Get some rest, I'll be back later. – Botan walked out of the room.
Kenji was terrified. He couldn't follow the fast events that were occurring to him.
-Why! I didn't choose any of this! Why didn't dad say no! – He started to get angry at his father.
After a while, he calmed down and looked out of the window. He was astonished when he realized he was at the royal castle. He laid down on the bed and accepted his fate. After an hour, Kenji got hungry and went out of the room.
-Whoa! I never saw a house this beautiful!
He walked down the halls and bumped with some guards.
-Huh? What are you doing here kid? Are you a thief? – Guard pointed his spear at him.
-What? No, I was taken in here by the prince!
-Nice lies. Get out of here! – The guard shouted.
The boy got scared and put his hand out for defense. Accidentally, he let out a lightning bolt and zapped the guard. The guard passed out from the pain.
-What, what happened, what did I do! – Kenji got scared.
The guard next to him tried to pierce Kenji, but Botan rushed into the scene and stopped the guard.
-Stop! This is the kid the prince was talking about. Now quickly take the guard to a doctor!
The guard didn't waste a minute and followed Botans orders.
-That was close kid. – He put his hand on Kenjis shoulder, slowly lifting it to the boy's neck – Don't you know how to control your powers.
Kenji pushed he grown man's hand away.
-Of course you wouldn't. Let me take you to the prince.
Botan tried to take the kids hand, but Kenji didn't let him do it. After three minutes of walking, they got to a huge room. The place was full with expensive furniture, armor, weapons and accessories. In the end of the room was a red and golden throne. On the throne was sitting prince Emnei in expensive clothes. He was leaning on the throne with his head on his hand. When the prince saw them enter, he stood up and opened his hands.
-Nice to meet you, Kenji. – He started approaching them – I am the prince of Nissel, ready to help you become a proud warrior.
-I didn't choose this! – The kid screamed.
-Calm down. – Emnei had a soothing voice – You got it wrong if you think we are trying to hurt you. It's the opposite! I will help you not lose your new talent and grow a proud man!
-What about Haru and dad? – Kenji started to cool down.
-They will visit you when they have the free time. We are not locking you in, you can go visit them too when you finish training.
Kenji calmed down and even started to like the prince.
-The training can start even today, if you're not tired.
-Sure! – Kenji was young and was easily persuaded.
The prince rubbed the kids blonde and black hair. Botan and Kenji left the room.
-Do you see how great our prince is? Serve him well. – Said Botan.
The boy nodded his head. Before training, Kenji ate some food Botan brought.
-I have never tasted anything so good! – Said Kenji with bright eyes as he was digging in the food.
That day, Botan taught him the basics of magic. Day by day, the tasks were getting tougher. Harumi and his father visited him daily. Kenji was always happy to see them.
