Chapter 57: Return To Limasse

Sunlight passed the trees and shone onto Rekkas eyes, waking him up. His back was hurting from sleeping on the hard ground. Five days passed since Limasse has fallen. They got accustomed to their new lifestyle. Rekka was hunting and searching for food, as he was experienced. At first, the others were amazed, but accepted the fact Rekka was going to supply them. Sometimes they would feel the ground tremble, but they were never caught. Rekka got up, drank some water and went to hunt. Suddenly, he heard nearby bushes rustle. Rekka threw a fireball, thinking it was an animal. He suddenly heard screams. Rekka got startled and made the fire disappear. He approached the bush and saw a man in his early twenties.

-Please, don't kill me! – He laid on the ground and covered his head with his backpack.

Rekka got annoyed and the mans cowardice.

-Don't worry, I won't hurt you. – He said.

The man slowly put his backpack away. He saw Rekkas appearance and got scared.

-You're lying! – He screamed and put the backpack on his head again.

-Rekka-chan, what is going on? – Harumi heard the screams and got worried.

Rekka waved his hand, signaling to come over.

-Can you help me? – Asked Rekka – This guy is scared of me. – He pointed his finger to the man lying on the ground.

-Oh. – Harumi was surprised – Who is he? – She thought.

When the guy heard Harumis voice, he calmed down and stood up. He picked up his glasses and brushed dirt off it.

-Sorry. – Said the man – With all of the things going on, I thought you were a monster after you threw a fireball at me.

-You did what Rekka!? – Harumi looked at Rekka in shock.

-I thought you were a monster too. – Answered Rekka with a straight face.

-Let me introduce myself. My name is Koshi Nazami. – He put on his glasses and his backpack on his back – I'm a traveler. I was just heading to Limasse.

-My name is Harumi Mori. Nice to meet you. – Harumi made a kind smile – Sadly, Limasse isn't a safe place to visit right now.

-It's the opposite! The monsters there were all exterminated, and a portal hasn't appeared there for days! Plus, the royal family is handing out supplies for survival.

Rekkas mood changed. His expression was suddenly happier.

-Are you telling the truth? – He said in excitement.

Koshi was surprised by Rekkas sudden change.

-Harumi-san, can we return?

-Koshi-san, are you really telling us the truth. – Harumi got more serious – We came from Limasse. The place is a wreck.

-They told me that a mysterious adventurer killed everything there.

-See Harumi-san, we can go! – Rekka wanted to see his friends. He also thought that Whitebolt returned.

-I don't know Rekka-chan. I will talk it out with others.

-Excuse me, umm... - Koshi wanted to say something – Can I come with you people? Travelling alone now is suicide. I was lucky monsters didn't attack me. This boy here looks strong too.

-My name is Asahi Rekka by the way. Nice to meet you! - Rekka smiled.

They went to their hideout. Harumi discussed returning to the maids. Some of them strongly disagreed, saying that the man was lying, but they finally decided to head back, because they wouldn't be going anywhere by staying there. They packed their supplies and belongings and headed towards the city. It was night when they approached Limasse. Surprisingly, there weren't monster around, not even corpses. They sometimes found piles of dust spreading into the wind. They saw their mansion was not destroyed.

-I will go see my friends! – Shouted Rekka and ran off.

-No Rekka, stop! – Harumi ran after him. She wanted to her family too.

-You can stay with us if you don't have a place. – Said one kind maid to Koshi.

-Sure, who wouldn't want to stay with beautiful woman in a giant mansion? – Answered Koshi with a smile.

The maid's face got red. The others maids noticed this and started whispering to each other.

-Don't tell me she fell for him?

-She totally did. She even told him to stay!

They checked the mansion and saw Whitebolt still wasn't home. The maids grew worried, but there was nothing they could do. Rekka and Harumi ran through the destroyed city's streets.
