*The day Whitebolt left*
Meanwhile in the mansion, everything was going smoothly. Rekka visited his friends, played with them for a while and returned to the mansion for training. He could hold a fireball for five seconds in the air.
-This should be enough! – Thought Rekka.
He took a stance and created a fireball. He was concentrating on the fire. Rekka threw it. After it reached ten meters, in midair, he changed its direction to the left.
-Whoaa! – Rekka was happy and proud about himself.
He created a fireball in the palms of his hands. He threw them, then made them stop and change directions. Even though it was training, Rekka was playing as if he was in a playground. Creating fireballs, throwing them. He decided to try something. Rekka put his hands together. Slowly, he started to pull them apart, but rotating them. In the middle, he was creating a fireball, making it bigger and bigger. After it reached a considerable size, with the both of his arms he pushed it through. In he then pushed his hand forward and made the giant fireball go faster.
He looked at his hands in shock.
-I have progressed so much. – He started to tear up – I don't want to leave this place. My friends, my lifestyle. I will talk it out with Daichi. I am sure he will get me.
He heard sounds from a nearby bush, but brushed it off and continued to train. Someone knocked on the mansion gates. A maid went to check. After she opened it, she saw her.
-Harumi-san, long time no see. How are you? – Asked the maid.
-Thank you! – Answered Harumi with a smile – Is Whitebolt here? I need to talk to him.
-Sadly he... - The maid stopped.
-Are you okay? – Harumi got worried.
The maid dropped on the ground. Harumi kneeled and started shaking her.
-ARE YOU OKAY? WHAT HAPPENED? HEY!
She saw that the maid was bleeding. She was stabbed from hehind.
-SOMEONE HEL...
Harumis vision got blurry and she fell on the maid. Rekka heard echoes of someone calling for help and ran with speed magic. He got near the gates and saw Harumi and a maid lying on the ground. They both have been stabbed.
-What happened! – Rekka ran to them – No, no, no!
He started healing them with healing magic. He was still inexperienced in this magic, and couldn't do much. Rekka suddenly rolled aside. Someone missed Rekka and hit the ground with a dagger.
-WHO ARE YOU!? – Shouted Rekka in anger.
The man in a black cloak only chuckled. He then ran into the mansion, shoving Rekka his bloodied dagger in the way. Rekka was in a dilemma. He couldn't leave the two behind, but if he let the man inside the mansion, he could've killed others. He healed Harumi and the maid with all of his strength for a couple of seconds and ran inside the mansion. He looked around, but couldn't see the man. He then looked behind and narrowly dodged an attack. He threw a fireball. It hit the man's hand, making him drop the dagger. He chuckled again.
-Who are you! – Rekka shouted again.
-I am someone you changed.
Rekka thought that voice was familiar. The man ran upwards on the stairs, running like wind. Rekka chased after him. He threw fireballs, but because of the mans speed, couldn't hit them. The man suddenly stopped. He turned around and tried to kick Rekka, but Rekka slid under him and pulled away the cloak. He was in shock.
-Long time no see Rekka-chan!
-No... - Rekka was slowly walking away – Why, why are you here?
-You already know the answer to that question.
The man created a strong wind, knocking Rekka backwards. In the air, the man dashed to him and kicked him in the stomach, making Rekka hit the wall. Rekka coughed blood.
-Ah, how nostalgic. – The man was approaching him with a wicked smile.
-I'm *Cough* sorry. – Barely said Rekka.
-No apology can heal my wounds you created. – He adjusted his glasses
The man put his arm and pointed it towards Rekka. Behind the man spikes were created from wind.
-Now die.
The spikes headed towards Rekka. Rekka created a massive beam of fire, blocking it.
-Did I get him? – He though.
The man was hanging on the railing. He jumped up, in front of Rekka and tried to punch him with a swift move. Rekka ducked, but instead got kicked and fell on the ground.
-Hideo-san, don't do this... - Rekka pleaded for mercy.
-What's going on? – Sarcastically said Hideo – Why aren't you going berserk again?
He kicked the lying down boy. Hideo then picked him up with his shirt and pulled him over the edge.
-Death is the only mercy I can show you. You will die peacefully, while I will live the consequences of your sins.
Hideo dropped Rekka. As he was about to hit the ground, a maid caught him, hurting her leg.
-Are you okay *Huff* Rekka-san? – Said the maid in a soothing voice.
Rekka opened his eyes. He saw Hideo was standing behind her. With a swift strike, he knocked her out.
-Don't make me hurt more people. – Said Hideo in an angry tone and adjusted his glasses.
-YOU, - Rekka remembered what Hideo did to Harumi and the maids – YOU WILL PAY!
Hideo only chuckled.
-Still aren't going berserk? Don't underestimate me!
He tried to kick Rekka in the head. Rekka dodged and counter attacked with multiple fireballs. Hideo extinguished them with his wind. Rekka then created a beam of fire. Hideo created a wind wall, cancelling the beam and throwing more spikes. Rekka ran as spikes narrowly missed them. He moved his hand and created fireballs in the air. He then pushed them with his other hand. Hideo didn't expect this and got hit by one of them, burning his arm. Enraged, he created a stronger wind, knocking Rekka far away. Hideo then put his arm forward.
-Tornado! – He screamed.
A small tornado was made in the room. Rekka couldn't escape and got caught in it. He flew up.
-Cancel! – Shouted Hideo.
Rekka fell on the ground, scraping his arms and legs.
-It's over. – Said Hideo and slowly approached Rekka with his burnt arm.
The place around was on fire. Maids left the mansion and helped Harumi and the other maid. Rekka looked over and saw the maid she got saved by was neatly caught in fire. He snapped and made the fire around disappear. Hideo created spikes, aiming at Rekka. Rekka still hasn't given up. He was determined to win. With healing magic he knew, he healed himself and rolled on the side, dodging the spears. He threw more fireballs and followed it with a beam. Hideo was running through them with a wind shield, approached Rekka and tried to kick him. His attacks were slower. Rekka was able to read them this time. Hideo couldn't punch back because of his hurt arm.
-When you killed them, - Hideo started – my one and only family, I was devastated. I ran away because of fear. I couldn't hold in the rage. When I returned, Whitebolt was about to kill you, but he didn't. I crossed the fire wall you created and ran away.
-Why are you telling me this! – Shouted Rekka.
-I heard a voice. A kind voice in my head. He told me I could get my revenge. Heh, heh, HAHAHAHAHA! – Hideo started hysterically laughing.
-You are out of your mind!
-I have waited long enough, until Whitebolt left. Behold, the powers that have been bestowed upon me!
Rekka suddenly felt a menacing aura. Hideo put up both of his hands.
-DIE! – He screamed with a pained face.
He suddenly created a beam of dark magic, strong enough to pierce through the whole mansion. Rekka started running away from it.
-NO, I CAN'T DIE YET! – He thought.
Rekka was running for his dear life. The beam was following him. Just as it was about to his him, Hideo stopped. Rekka looked behind and saw a gaping hole, reaching through the training grounds. Rekka looked at Hideo. He fell on the ground. Rekka ran to him.
-Hideo, are you okay? – Shouted Rekka.
-He... - Whispered Hideo with his dying breath – Lied to me...
Hideos arms, legs and nearly whole body was covered in dark energy.
-Hideo? HIDEO!
Rekka shook him, but he was dead. Maid ran to him. Two of them were carrying Harumi and the hurt maid. They were fine.
-Are you okay Rekka-san? – Asked one maid.
-This is all... My fault. – Rekka had dead eyes as his tears dropped on Hideos lifeless body – I... Killed them all...
-You saved me, no us! Ouch! – Shouted hurt Harumi – I just came here because the adventurer's guild was closed today because of the Night Forest invasion. I didn't expect this. – She thought.
The maids took Rekka away. Some of them tried to clean up. The damage to the mansion was massive. The knocked out maid woke up too. They carefully took Hideos body away and called the guards. Rekka was lying on the bed in his room, thinking. He didn't shed tears, he was almost emotionless.
