I don’t know why I kissed her, but it felt right at the time and even better why I was doing it, So tingly. Cece was grinning and bouncing excitedly, OMG I have so much to tell you. She grabbed my hand and led me to a small collection of buildings exclaiming “were going to see The Elders, Granma dot is the head of them” as we entered the front door and in to a large dining room she called “Granma dot?” and the little old lady called back “hello Cece” and continued to drag me after her till we found the quirky old lady. “what’s the matter sweetheart?” she asked “Granma, I felt the sparkle?” she said “Really, that’s marvels sweetheart, right we better have a chat” she beckoned us to follower her to a small cosy living room with chintzy sofas and are chair sets with a couple of other elderly lays sat there smiling. As, we sat down on the tiny two-seater sofa Granma dot bustled around in the kitchen and after a few moments awkward silence she came in brandishing a try with a tea pot cups and plate of biscuits. (OMG I thought, not more food already.) As Grandma Dot poured the tea Cece introduced the other Elders as Aunty ivy, Aunty Hazel, Grandma Juniper and Grandpa Earl. Grandma Dot asked, “Alex dear, what has Celest told you about our family?” I thought for a moment before replying “ Well, that you’re a large extended family, who the locals tease for being a cult even though your not” Grandma Dot hummed thoughtfully then replied “Well, that’s a start, but theirs a few things left out” “Okay, I said” please go on” and she continued “Well you need to know that our family is very special” and she got up and got a book off of a shelf and handed it to me. “you need to look at this” she said looking at the other Elders for confirmation as they nodded, “it’s very old and has been handed down for generations with each generation adding to it”. “wow” I said looking at the embossed image of a large fluffy cat with very human eyes on the front. “what type of cat is this?” I inquired, grandma Dot answered “Main coon” “man coon” I chucked “No, main coon, like the American state Stephan king set his books in.” Cece said with an indulgent smirk. “Okay, Main coon” I said focusing on the first page of the book. After reading for a bit I patted my pockets looking for my phone as I wanted to look something up but could not find it, Cece told me “your phone was broken in the car accident, here use mine “as she handed it to me. I used the search engine to look some stuff up and I could not believe it was real, finally I looked up Main coon and they were beautiful. “My word they big and beautiful and such human like eyes” I exclaimed. Cece said “keep reading” so I did, stopping every so often to look things up on google or ask questions (quite a lot was hard to read because of the curly writing). Cece ate loads of biscuits and drank tea and Grandma Dot seam to be loving the company other than the other know snoozing Elders but after a while I was stiff and getting freaked by the knowledge being heaped on me.
We’d been sat with Alex looked trough the book for some time and starting to look shaken and I thought it best to go for a walk. “Come on you need a break, lets go for that walk in the wood?” he looked up and said “great idea” so off we went. We walked out in to the fresh air, he took a deep breath and said “I needed this” I linked arms with him, this felt so natural and like something id been missing. After walking in pleasant silence for a for a while I got a felt that he need to ask a question and with that he said “so, um…… are things in the book true?” I answered “yes, but what in particular, are you asking about?” “well the shifters mostly?” I he said uncomfortably. I took a deep breath looked at the floor and answered “yes, were all shifters” and then looked him in the eyes. To my surprise he looked interested and asked, “Can you show me please?” “Okay” I replied going behind a large bush.
