chapter 2, The meeting

623 Words
Alexander As I sat in the budget hotel about 12 hours after id arrived to book in for my flight, first it had been delayed then cancelled completely after attempting to rearrange another flight they had all been cancelled for the night as the rain had got harder and then the thunder had started. Before I left the Airport in my rental car and headed to a local budget hotel that id used before I quickly rang them and managed to get the last room available (Few). I arrived and as I checked in I asked if I book a table at the restaurant the receptionist politely but firmly informed me it was closed as the chef was stuck at home because of a flash flood. I headed to the lifts I had an idea of getting snacks from the vending machines, but they were infuriatingly out of order, I left muttering “for f**k aske” under my breath as I got in the lift to head to my room. After getting to my room and got in dumping my stuff. I got to wondering what the hell was I going to eat, I was starving as I’d not eaten since breakfast. I went back down to the reception and asked where I could go locally to eat, the receptionist told me that there was a late-night café open not far away that I could get the most amazing burger around. I put the name in the GPS in my phone and left in my rental car. After driving for an hour in the wind and rain and diverting because of fallen trees and flooded roads, the GPS told me I was nearly their but then with a flash of lightening I crashed in slow motion, a fox ran out, I braked, kidded and crashed in to a ditch. I must have passed out because nothing. Celest I woke up in the morning to brilliant sunshine, feeling hungover from crying myself to sleep last night, tossing and turning. I got up put on my running cloths and trainers and headed out for a run to clear my head. I ran up the winding road near our home, as I was getting a good speed up there was a car in the ditch. As I sped up and I saw a man slumped over in the driver seat with blood trickling from his forehead. I tried the driver’s door, but it was locked I started to panic and started slapping the window. With that the man sat up and said something but I could not hear because the door was closed. So, I shrugged, and he unlocked and opened the door. “where am I” he crocked. Alexander I woke up with brilliant sunshine blinding me and the shape of a frantic lady thumping my car window. All I could say was “Where am I” I felt sick, and my head hurt. I unlocked the car and nearly fell over getting out, as I clung to the door a realised that my bladder was screaming at me “Pee, pee” so I stumbled over to a tree in the ditch and relived myself. While I was peeing, the lady spoke “You’re in a ditch… umm not far from my house, would you like to come use a phone?” My head throbbed so I nodded which was a bad idea because I felt sick again. She must have realised I was in a bad way because she said, “I think you better come with me” and put her arm undermine and helped me along the road, across some grass and in to a building. It was very hazy, and I don’t remember much as I felt awful.
