Kira parked her car and walked toward the front of the Valentia Inn. She noticed a police car parked out front and changed course midstride, remaining on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. A flutter of fear stirred to life in the pit of her stomach.
Have the bodies been found already? It can’t be a coincidence...
She hadn’t expected the police to be called to the hotel for another few days at least. The killer had been thorough and covered his tracks well. She wondered how the corpses of Ace’s men had been discovered. While she didn’t want the killer to get away with his crime, she knew the police would be reviewing the hotel’s security footage.
If the police suspect Jeff, Trevor, or I have anything to do with the killings, we’re in trouble.
