THE VAMPIRE'S GAME .. CHAPTER 1

1074 Words
Maria, a university student studying History and Psychology, was playing Truth or Dare with her friends—John, Emma, and Ryan. Everything had been going smoothly until the bottle spun and stopped on her. Since she had chosen truth every time, her friends insisted she take a dare. Reluctantly, she accepted her fate. Emma grinned mischievously and said, “We’re in the treehouse right now which is located in forest … go into the middle of the jungle, alone, and—ask a vampire to be your boyfriend.” Maria froze. Are you guys serious? Maria asked.. John said of course we're Emma nice dare by the way.. Guys I've heard that this place is not safe to joke about and it's too much let's give Maria another dare Ryan said.. Wtf?? Ryan stop talking bullshit you're such a cry baby these stories are fake.. Emma said and laughed John- Maria are you sure you can do this? Her heart raced, and nervous laughter escaped her lips. She tried to protest, but her friends’ teasing encouragement left her no choice. Swallowing her fear, she stepped into the shadows of the jungle, the dare hanging over her like a challenge she couldn’t back down from.. --- IN THE FOREST ~ Maria’s footsteps crunched softly on the forest floor as she called out, her voice trembling slightly. "Hello? Anyone here? My name is Maria… and… any vampires around? I want… I want you to be my boyfriend." Her words sounded ridiculous even to her own ears. Panic bubbled up, and she turned to run, heart pounding. But from the shadows of a towering tree, a figure watched silently. Dark eyes glinted in the dim moonlight, and a slow, knowing smirk curved his lips. It was Justin—the dangerous, irresistible vampire everyone whispered about. In that instant, something unexplainable stirred within him. Her innocence, her beauty, even the reckless boldness of her words—he was captivated. And just like that, he was lost to her, utterly enthralled by the girl who had dared to summon him in the heart of the forest.. --- IN THE TREEHOUSE Emma- Oohh wow Maria you completed your dare.. such a brave gurll.. Are you alright? Ryan asked Yes I'm fine but! Maria said John- But? is there anything wrong!!? Everyone started panicking I felt someone was there.. Maria answered In the forest? Emma questioned.. Maria- Yeah I felt someone was listening and standing behind the tree.. I felt the presence of someone.. Emma- Stop Being stubborn Maria you're not a child anymore you're 19 years old.. Ryan- I told you I've heard some stories about this forest.. Maria- What type of stories ?? Ryan went silent.. Emma rolled her eyes stop it guys you're being childish.. Maria shouted RYAN JUST TELL ME WHAT IT IS??? Finally he spoke "Maria I've heard that this forest is not safe there are vampires here!!!... Maria froze her heart raced What the heck vampires? she whispered Emma and John burst into the laughter What the hell guys?? you're being ridiculous.. Vampires don't exist it's all fiction.. John said Emma waved her hands dramatically and said "Honestly this is too much let's stop the game and head home.. You two really need rest. We'll meet tomorrow in the university... Everyone said their goodbyes and left for their homes!! --- ON THE WAY TO MARIA’S HOME.. --- Maria stood at the bus station, her eyes darting nervously around the unusually empty platform. Normally, this place buzzed with people, but today it was eerily quiet. Her mind kept replaying the events in the forest—how she had felt someone watching her, how the dare had forced her into the shadows. She tried to shake off the fear, telling herself it was just her imagination… until a man in a long black coat silently sat down beside her. For a moment, Maria didn’t notice him, lost in her thoughts. But when she finally looked to her side, her heart skipped a beat. The presence was unmistakable—the same chilling feeling she had felt in the forest. That shadowy figure… it was him. Panic surged through her. Without a second thought, she bolted from the bus station, her fear driving her as fast as her legs could carry her. The man in the long black coat watched silently as Maria sprinted away, her footsteps echoing across the empty bus station. A slow, amused smile spread across his face. "Oh my… my baby is so innocent," he murmured, his voice low and filled with a dangerous charm. Meanwhile, Maria’s heart pounded in her chest. Fear propelled her forward—she ran as fast as she could, her mind screaming at her to escape, even as a strange, unsettling feeling told her that he was still watching, still close, and not going anywhere. Finally Maria reached home and decided to call Ryan cause he's reliable in this type of situations.. Maria’s hands trembled as she dialed Rayan’s number. “Hello?” his voice answered. “R-Rayan… it’s me… I… I think someone is following me,” Maria stammered, her voice shaking, heart pounding so fast she could barely catch her breath. “The… the same person from the forest…” “What?” Rayan’s voice sharpened, shock evident. “I felt the same presence I felt in the forest… and now… it’s still following me. I’m… I’m really scared,” Maria whispered, panic lacing every word. “Calm down, Maria. Drink some water… take a deep breath. Stop overthinking and just rest,” Rayan said, trying to soothe her. Maria shook her head, even though he couldn’t see her. “It’s serious, Rayan. You’re the only one I can rely on. John and Emma… they’re not taking this seriously, but I… I know this is complicated.” Rayan fell silent, stunned for a moment. Then, his voice softened but firm, “Maria… there’s no point in trying to discuss this with John and Emma. They won’t believe any of it. But… we can figure this out. You and me. We’ll get to the bottom of what’s happening.” Maria’s chest relaxed slightly. “Thank you so much, Rayan. You’re the only one I can trust right now… you really care.” He chuckled lightly. “No need to thank me. Just rest for now. We’ll meet at university tomorrow and figure this out together. Everything will be fine..
