EPISODE 10 - Tia Meets the Dark Spirits

Tia Meets the Dark Spirits

Tia’s perception of life was not based on philosophy. She looked at life beyond what world philosophers offered and treated everyone equally regardless of their status. She always said, ‘I see humans at all levels of life.’

This realistic approach did not sound good to the friends. Hence, they did not welcome it.

One morning, she got into a car and started driving out of the city just to go and see a different part of the world. When returning in the evening, the spirits wanted to kill her because Allyn could not tell them the information that she wanted from her. Therefore, they blocked the road with the spacecraft.

When Tia saw the spacecraft on the road, she stopped the car. As she walked closer, the spirits began appearing in human form one by one. She got afraid. With anxiety she tried to escape but it was hard. The spirits moved at a high speed and surrounded her. They spoke words that she could not hear or understand. She heard many voices that echoed in the mind and the ears bled from the frequency at which they communicated. She was troubled.

Allyn was watching in the sky. She distracted the spirits with a stronger wave, which helped Tia escape. Tia got back into the car and drove to a nearby compound where Jack had gone to visit the people who took care of him since childhood.

Marsho heard about how Tia had discovered that they were dark spirits occupying human bodies. He told the aliens,

‘Find her and kill her!’

Soon, aliens arrived and searched all corners of the compound but could not find her though they were sure she was hiding somewhere there.

‘Set the compound on fire!’ Commanded Marsho. They killed many people in that compound but Tia and Jack survived.

When the compound turned quiet, Jack told Tia to go home,

‘You can go home now.’

Tia did not want to leave. Hence she kept on watching him.

‘What are you looking at? Go to your world. You do not belong here!’

Aliens had put her car on fire; she left the compound on foot. A few miles away, she was tired and sat down. Jets then passed by her nose. She ran back and found the Jack’s house on fire. She got inside and took him out. Allyn had followed,

‘Why are you helping him?’

 ‘Leave me alone!’ She responded involuntarily. Thus, she reacted without looking at Allyn.

 ‘He’s already dead. Save your-self! Get out of this place!’ Allyn advised. However, Tia did not get out of that place until Jack was able to control his breath. 

An hour later, she regretted; ‘I should not have driven to this place. I also don’t know what is happening to me. I know that you have lost good people because of me’ Jack limped away and Tia said nothing more.

Although he did not voice out his cry, she asked ‘what happened to you?’ He remained quiet until morning.

Jack did not know his biological parents. The mother died during his birth while the father died a year later. Selfish people who made him work for nothing raised him; they made him suffer for their personal ambitions and threw him out in the end. Therefore, he left his village when he was seven years old to seek help, and the help was found in that compound which aliens burnt to ashes.

At mid-morning, after gathering the dead bodies with the few people that survived, Jack talked to Tia about his life.

‘I live a haunted life. There are forces that surround us, they can affect our minds but we cannot see them. A few months ago, I wanted to get rid of horrible thoughts, which I could not hold in my head. I started moving from one place to another but nothing helped. Sometimes, I hear many voices that I can hardly handle. I drank alcohol to free my mind but the situation grew worse.’ He paused for a second, ‘I wanted to run away but there is nowhere to run to. When I felt helpless and alone, someone showed up from nowhere and helped me. He gave me hope to continue living.’ He took a deep breath again and lit a fire.

Tia stood beside him. She knew that Jack did not know her and she was not bothered with it. She said, ‘That person is not far from you. She’s not in a different world.’ He asked her, ‘why do they want to kill you? What have you done wrong? Why is there so much hate?’

Tia answered, ‘I do not know why they want to kill me. And yester night I saw creatures. Not humans, who came later but some other living beings like humans.’ Jack sighed.
