The next few days passed by in a pleasant blur. Ryker and Pip were consumed by each other, so we cut our day short and headed back to the packhouse. I wanted to enlist Nicole and Gentry’s help anyway. When we got back, they disappeared, and I hadn’t seen Pip since. I went to Nicole first, asking her if it was okay to do everything at the packhouse and use the kitchen. She was elated by my request and told me she would even help me prepare all the food.
