I was in the kitchen making cookies when I overheard Nate’s call with who I suspected was an investor.
Damn, Nate was far ahead in the business deals and the fact that he was keeping me out means, he was up to something. We’re supposed to be business partners. I am the reason why he has access to Greenville. I made him. Does he not trust me anymore? He probably is, but I am way smarter than he thinks.
His phone rang and I strained my ears to listen, but all I heard was his footsteps going away until they became faint. I suspected he had gone out of the living room to converse with the investor.
