I watched his face closely and I saw how tensed he looked, taken aback by my response. I’m sure he didn’t see that coming. I had an idea of what he would do to stop me from ending his life, and that was trying to threaten me using my people's safety as leverage.
I wasn't a fool. My mission was to kill two birds with one stone. I would be getting them back and also capture Alfredo who would be forced to reveal where the Aconitum garden is.
