Nate's POV:
The world went still for a minute at the thought of her rejection, made my heart beat so loud I feared it will tear out of my ribcage. Jenny would be pissed off if Miss Valeria rejects the deal and that was the last thing I wanted.
I swallowed the lumps gathered in my throat and moved forward, she was finally happy with me after so long. I did not want anything at all to change that. I sighed and asked gently,
"Do you not approve of the contract?"
She lifted her face to look at me but said nothing. Her face was blank, so I had no idea what was going on in her head. All I could gather from her reaction was that she wasn't pleased with the proposal and would reject it. She had on this look of disdain.
