Unbelievable! I was dumbstruck, staring at Chuck with so much disbelief covering my face. Is he willing to trade having me alone for his brother's life? Charles could be in real danger, and he didn't seem to care until I gave him an answer.
I wanted to hate him, but my stupid heart wouldn't let me. Or should I say my stupid wolf? I was stuck in a web of confusion.
