Vanessa's POV:
I slowly opened my eyes but shut them back due to the sun rays reflecting on my face through the window. I felt lightweight and it seemed as if I hadn't eaten in a long time.
I sat up and shut my eyes as my head banged, threatening to pull off. The last thing I remembered was waiting for Chuck and then eating breakfast. It was after that breakfast everything went blank.
Something was mixed with the food that made me unconscious. The door opened and Maddy stepped in holding a tray of towels. She lifted her gaze and when it fell on me, she gasped and hurried to the bed.
"You are awake," she sobbed. "I thought something bad had happened to you."
