Before long, the CF caravan entered the Province of Limpopo, where they came upon the Venetia Diamond Mines, South Africa’s largest producer of diamonds. Nearby, the remainder of the Gaborone troops met with the caravan at the small town of Bela-Bela. Apart from the reinforcements that had just defeated the PG at the Mwenezi River, the Gaborone troops were well-rested and eager for battle. So far in the African campaign, the Gaborone troops had seen the least action.
