Episode 4-Bad news

1944 Words
Up in the hills of Greenville, outskirts of Los Angeles was a summerhouse where all the angel resistance crew managed to hide away from all the taunting demons the princess hybrid sister had sent after them. Out of the 8 bedrooms suite apartment of the huge summerhouse lies the room where Alex and Helen stood staring dotingly at each other with all the love they had to offer. “Do you have to go now; Garnet said he’d been having unusual feelings of us being followed by a demon who haven’t even identified yet…I really don’t think it’s a good idea to approach Crystal now” Alex worried moving away few strands of hair that the excess breeze due to the altitude of the building; kept swerving around. “I’m going to be fine Alex, trust me” Helen assured grabbing her blue cloak that covered her black princess dress with an extremely tight and fitted corset that brace her shape perfectly. Alex find his hands resting on her pronounced hips standing from the armrest of the sofa chair he was sitting on to pull his mate to himself and slowly descend on her lips waiting for her to reciprocate and she did in less than a second crossing her hands around his neck to close the little available space between them, allowing her to feel her effect on him. “Um,” Helen instantly pulled away after a moan escaped them both. “Yeah right,” Alex sucked in his lips realising the message Helen was passing with her eyebrows quirked at him in a pretty dramatic way. “So who will be going with you?” Alex asked after Helen moved to check on her sword which was gifted to her by the teacher, guardian, and friend who used to be Queen’s personal guard until the queen assigned her to the princess. “No one- “You can’t possibly be serious about going alone?” Alex frowned but Helen just walked straight up to him and gave him a peck before existing their room to run into Pearl and Jasper arguing about something that wasn’t so clear to Alex or Helen. “Have you decided on who you are going with yet?” Pearl asked flipping her well-oiled diamond hair to the back by slowly putting her hands akimbo with a silly look on her face. “I have to go alone; two angels walking down a lonely street with demons running around is a very terrible idea…especially since we are all higher angels, our aura is going to draw the demons to us- “And a single angel walking down a street filled up with demons and chaos is suicide; they are going to kill you…you must have forgotten we aren’t as strong as we used to be” Pearl warned Helen who seems to have already made up her mind. She ignored them and hid her sword under her cloak while moving to the topmost floor which serves as a refreshment area; it had medium size pool with long comfortable lounge chairs at the end with beach umbrellas over the lounge chairs. Helen looked over the open sky and slowly flex her shoulders as she felt her wings grow out then fly right into the sky to visit the girl they had confirmed house the soul of princess Angelique but during her visit to Crystal, Helen felt the presence of a demon which she immediately excused herself to deal with before any harm could befall Crystal’s family. Helen after immediately leaving Crystal’s house treaded down a lonely alleyway, quietly…making sure each of her steps was counted as the presence of the demon following her got even more registered. Helen abruptly turned, swerving her cloak around; making the material move to her rhythm, Helen removed the hood of her cloak and wore a mischievous smile as she started to grow icicles at different angles of the alleyway…the demon who creep in the darkness ready to strike got confused by her actions and watched but Helen knew quite well that was going to happen so she grew a smile as she builds the last icicle which deflected light from the streetlights to another icicle until it illuminated squarely the alleyway trapping the demon in the middle since by scent she could tell what type of demon it was; a demon of darkness so she knew light was their weakness. “It’s nice to meet you" Helen smiled mischievously before looking towards the drainage where she controlled a heavy rope of water which she made into tiny icicles then made it explode towards the direction of the heavy black figure that stood in the middle of lights reflected squarely around Helen and her demon opponent. The demon tried to avoid the piercing of the icicles that came running straight for him but the moment he reached the light boundary the icicles had made which was a straight ray of light that burned him the moment he touched it and by the time he turned, it had every icicle pointing out of him but then one of the icicles holding the light boundary in place melted and the demon escaped already wounded making Helen hiss in absolute disgust, then she turned back expelling the light by making the icicles melt but on heading back towards the direction of Crystal’s home, she caught a whiff of the same demon moving fast towards the direction…the stains of his blood smelt like rotten apple…the only scent Helen’s nose was drowned in. “For f**k sake!” Helen cursed under her breath and immediately leaped into the sky flying as fast she could and was glad she got there just in time to save Crystal from any danger that the demon could have caused and when Crystal's mother approached them in the room; having noticed her daughter was talking to herself she immediately left and fly back to their hideout where her mate was patiently waiting for her. Alex let out a loud sigh of relief the moment Helen landed and retracted her wings but the moment he got close; he noticed something different that made his brows instantly crease. “You were attacked weren’t you?” Alex guessed but Helen just sighed. “It was well-prepared for- “That was why I asked you to bring someone with you…you could have been hurt- “Alex I really don’t have time for this…I could have been hurt but I wasn’t hurt as I, any news from Lily yet? Have they found a cure to Dylan’s wound?” Helen asked trying to change the topic of the conversation she was having with Alex while hastening her steps to walk to her room. “There’s no news from them yet? You don’t think they were attacked do you?” Alex asked also wearing the same worried look which Helen had on. “I’m not certain but I’m sure Lily is going to be fine…I’m pretty certain about that” Helen confidently said meeting Alex’s eyes. Helen shut her eyes feeling the memories and screams of her ex filled her head. when they were escaping Angel Bay Dylan had got in the middle of her and her evil sister Vera who was about to poison her with her poisonous claw, why Dylan got in the middle of that Helen couldn't tell but the only person who knew about herbs so much Green, Lily have to set out with him because Dylan was dying. "Angie" Helen flinched as Alex's hand found its way around her waist as they both lie side by side on the bed. Helen was supposed to be sleeping, Alex pretty much thought she was asleep since she fell asleep on his arms the previous night but then he felt her uneasiness in his sleep. "What's wrong?" Alex asked tightening his hold along Helen's waist. "I don't know...couldn't sleep" Helen confessed turning to face Alex since her back was turned to him in the first place. "Angie, everything is going to be fine...you need to relax more often Alex traced the edges of her face with his fingers then stopper on her lips which rubbed warmly. "Get some sleep Angie" Alex urged holding her hands beneath the sheets to urge her to sleep and Helen relaxed willing the sleep to come and by the time she woke up Alex was gone and for a moment she fretted but by the time she was running down the stairs in nothing but a tank top and pajama shorts she found him with the rest of the resistance crew which had been the name her half-sister Vero had given their group after they escaped Angel Bay. "The Princess is awake" Rose notified and the attention immediately drifted to Helen who took his time to walk down the stairs. "Good morning" She greeted walking straight to Alex to give him a peck on the lips before joining others at the dining table. "Good morning" They all responded almost at the same time. "So how was your visit to the girl...were you able to talk to her?" Ruby asked eyes slowly drifting from the ants helping her make her tea to Helen who control the bottled water at the center of the table to her hands since she woke up thirsty. "It's not going to be that easy...I can't find a way to talk to her without drawing demons to her...the only advantage will have over Vera will be lost if she ever finds out we are trying to free my elder sister...I think its best to lay low, for now, I might have killed the demon after me but I don't believe they won't stop coming not after they've figured we are around here somewhere" Helen shifted to have her back properly rested against the backrest of the chair while folding her hands akimbo as she speaks. "I say we hurry things up before more of them shows up" Garnet spoke approaching from the hallway that leads to the rooms on the lower floor. "Everywhere we've been and everywhere we are going to be will be flooded by demons...Vera wants every angel bowing for her; if we don't try to hasten things up, it's going to be very bad for us" Garnet voiced moving back one of the empty chairs by the dining table to have a seat. "Morgan" I turned to the only angel among us that came from the Kairos family, the one who could see different possibilities into the future. "Both isn't safe but the safer one is we wait...they will come quite alright but after a while of roaming without us surfacing; they'll think we've moved like we used to...they'll think we are on the run- "If that's what's going to happen, why isn't it safe?" Helen asked paying close attention to Morgan. "When you approached Crystal, you triggered something inside her...now she can also see them? Seeing demons will affect her mentally...you have to train her how to evade them, she has to survive it...it's the only way" The news was bad news to everyone seated at the dining. "I don't know if she can handle it" Helen confessed. --------
