Early the next morning, I leave Mack snoring quietly as I slip out of the bedroom and make my way downstairs. Although I’m back in the sweats my father hates, I’m hoping I’ll have just enough time to apologize to Faith and then change before he emerges from his room. That his door is still closed is a relief. If he’s still sleeping, then I have more time, because I know he won’t come down until he’s showered and fully dressed.
