Chapter 6

1920 Words
Laura’s POV “You’re almost done?” my mother asks while I’m busy typing out the final letter for my application. I had to come to her office to use the internet. After the storm the other night, the entire Wi-Fi bombed out “Almost, just a few more clicks then I’m done.” I got distracted by an angry voice yelling in the hallway. It’s Jade. I haven’t heard from him since the night he left my house. I tried calling him and sending him a few texts but never got a response. “Hurry, we have to leave.” My Mother said nervously. Why in the world would she be nervous. “What’s going on?” I ask, glaring at the door. “None of our business. Let’s go, you can finish this later.” I ignored my mother’s demand and walked closer to where the noise came from. “f**k you,” Jade yells at his dad, and the next Jade is on the floor again after his father pushed him into the bookshelves. “Mr Summers, what’s going on?” I ask, while my heart jumped up and down in my throat. Jade’s eyes immediately locked on mine. He’s beyond angry. “Nothing, get out of here,” Jade shouts, standing up from the floor, books scattered all over the floor. “No, why don’t you tell her why you just swear at me, tell her what you did, Jade. I’m sure she would love to hear how you f****d a schoolgirl in my car. Do you want to go to jail, you moron?” “John.” my mother scowls. “You know what dad, she’s not that young. Other than you, I’m not doing it behind someone’s back and tried to hide it, so excuse me if I’m nothing like you. You’re a f*****g idiot.” I stumble backwards when Jade said he’s not doing it behind someone’s back. I don’t know why it hurts so much. We had a moment, and that’s it, and he has a girlfriend. I really hope Mr Summers we’re talking about his girlfriend and not someone else. “Laura!” Jade yells when I ran for the door. My mother stayed behind. I need to get away from this building. I have no reason to feel jealous. Jade and I are nothing. “Laura?” Jade pulled me back by my arm, and I have this sudden urge again to punch him, but I have no valid reason for doing that. It will only make me look like an i***t. “Where are you going?” he asked, out of breath, while mine matches his rhythm. “Home,” I answered shortly. “Let me take you.” “No, I can manage on my own.” he glared at me, his eyes pressed in a frown. “Why are you so pissed?” he asks like he f*****g cares. We had a moment. It might not mean anything to him, but I told him I’m not playing his game. “I thought you said I’m not one of the soldiers on the battlefield?” I fold my arms and ask, concealing my pride. “You not,” he said, surprised. I shook my head in defeat and waved my arm for a taxi to stop. “Laura?” he grabs my hand again. “Let go of me. I told you I’m not playing your games. We almost kissed the other night, and you have a girlfriend.” I jerk away from him, making him angry, but I don’t care. I might sound stupid and jealous but he played me like a f*****g chess, and I never saw his move coming. “She’s not my girlfriend. I don’t f*****g date Laura. Haven’t you heard my father? I just f****d someone in his car. Do you really think so low of me that you think I will do that if I had a girlfriend?” I shook my head, laughing at him. “Yes, I think you will do that.” I challenged him. “Well, then f**k you too. I told you I’m not my father.” he turned around and walked back to the office with his hands in his pockets. “So that’s it? You keep throwing a bomb at me, and when it explodes you turn around and walk away. What did your father do that was so horrible?” I yell, making him turn around. “You tell me, apparently you know more about me than I, so you can figure out what a f**k is going on around you.” He salutes me and turned around to walk away. Fuck, this guy has an ego. I yell at the top of my lungs, making people stare at me, but I didn’t care at that moment. I’ve never felt so much rage in my entire life. I stomp my feet like a pre-school girl against the sidewalk. There was no taxi in sight anymore. I decided to walk, sending my mother a text that I will meet her at the house. I had to stop by the bookstore. “Hey beautiful, you need a ride?” the unfamiliar guy ask, pulling his million-dollar car next to me, but I ignored him while walking faster. What was I thinking? It’s not safe to walk at this time of the day. “Oh common, I will be gentle.” he stopped the engine, the same time my heart skipped a beat. He swivelled me around to face him. I couldn’t breathe at that moment. My entire body went numb. I had no idea what his intentions were, but lucky for me, I didn’t have to find out. Jade came to my rescue again. I had to drag him off the guy while he kept punching him in the face. His knuckles haven’t even healed from the previous fight and here he smashes it open again. “Get the f**k away from her!” he yells. The guy jumped up and drove with a heavy speed away. “I didn’t need you to save me.” I tried to be brave, but in fact, I am grateful for the save, but he doesn’t need to know that. “Your welcome,” he answered sarcastically. He followed me after I picked up my bag and started walking again. “I can get home.” “I know you can, but can you get home without getting kidnapped or we’re I have to save your ass?” he said in a playful tone. I smiled, forgetting why I’m pissed at him. “I didn’t ask you to.” I lowered my eyes to the road. “And I didn’t ask permission, so I guess we’re even.” he smiled. A dangerously gorgeous smile. “Can I see your hands?” the blood is streaming out of his knuckles. “We need to get that cleanup.” I still held his hand in mine. “Na, it will be fine.” he pulled his hand away from me. Draping it over his jean to clean the blood on his knuckles. “I’m not asking. We’re too? your house or mine?” at least I’m giving him a choice. How did we go from yelling at each other to this? He smiled and said with a soft voice, “my house.” I nodded and climbed into what I thought was his dad’s car. I kind of feel weird. He just admitted having s*x with someone in his father’s car. Was it this car? “Don’t worry, it wasn’t this car. This Is my mom’s car.” he smiled while gripping the steering, showing his muscles. “I wasn’t,” I quickly respond. Making him smile even bigger. We finally stop at his house. I don’t know why I feel so nervous. If there is one thing I never knew existed in my body was the feeling of being nervous, but someone great once told me that nervousness and excitement are the same things. I just made my own conclusion to whether you will give in to fear, or the excitement of having fear. It’s how you act to that. Never let the energy of someone else weaken your strength to stick to your morals, no matter the excitement it offers. My father’s voice creeps into my mind. I know this is dangerous, not physical but emotionally I lock away all my morals and beliefs, giving in to the temptation of the excitement I feel when I’m around Jade. “The medical aid kit is upstairs in the bathroom,” he announced, not sure if he should bring it down, or will I follow him to the bathroom. I Sidestep the fear and followed him, knowing exactly that it gives me excitement and not fear. “It’s in there.” he showed his hand to the cabinet, sitting down on the edge of the bath. I opened it and removed the bandage. The silence drip of the walls along with my lust, lust for excitement and danger, but my mind keeps pulling me back to “play it safe Laura, don’t be a dead soldier.” Jade picked up his face, looking passionately into my eyes, while I clean the blood on his knuckles. I breathed so hard that I forgot whose air I was breathing, mine or his? “This should do it,” I said in a low tone, while Jade still stares. At this moment, it’s hard to listen to my mind. Everything I learned in life, fought against to never be played, gets clouded with Jade’s dark stares. “Laura,” he whispered softly, making my skin tingle. “Mmm,” that’s all I could respond with. “You can let go now,” he said but kept his eyes on me. His eyes were seductive. I knew he could get any girl he wants, even me in this state. I backed away the moment I gain consciousness, but he pulled me back to stand between his legs. “What are you doing?” “Nothing.” I honestly don’t know what he’s talking about, but hearing his breathing pick up at a massive speed, I guess he means me doing something to him, we’re in fact, he’s the one that changes something in me, makes me feel something dangerous. Something I never thought was possible, but here I am, longing for the danger I see in his eyes, the excitement when he pulls me closer to him, the fire burning by one touch from him. The fear represents the excitement you feel down there. “Then why are you shaking?” he calls me out. I pulled myself away from him again, but he stands up, pressing me against the bathroom door. I’m completely lost for words, his hands immediately pressed my arms behind my back with no escape, not that I want to, I want him to do whatever he wants to, at this moment it doesn’t matter in my fragile mind who he has been with, who he had s*x with or if I’m a dying soldier on the battlefield. He grabs me by the throat not to hurt me, to kiss me gently, making me forget who’s the air I’m breathing. His hands explore my curves and slopes, making my heart come back to life and beat in tandem with his touch.
