CHAPTER 2

1689 Words
The blond hair girl stops at a bar near campus. I kind of feel relief to know we’re not going to some dodgy place, but the night is still young, so I kept quiet and followed their lead. On our way to the bar, they all introduced themselves. The blond with black stripes in her hair is Mandy, then there’s the guy who looked at me with pure lion hungry eyes, his name is Jordan, and another guy who looks kind of shy, although his piercings and Tattoos looks worse than all of them, his name is Dylan, then least but not last, Stephanie. We finally went inside after the girls plop some make-up on their faces and Jade swears at them every time they say “we’re almost done.” The Bar is filled with bikers and smoke hanging in the air like a bomb fire was just fired up. We moved to a table in the corner and a lady with even more tattoos than the gang or whatever they call themselves approached us to take our order. All of them order beer except for Jade, which is kind of weird, he appears to be someone who likes drinking. I ordered a coke with some ice and everyone looked at me like I committed a crime. “So, Laura, why in the world would you choose a Law degree?” Jordan asks, moving closer to me. I shift in my chair, making sure he knows I’m not interested. “My Father and Mother both studied law. My mother started working with Jade’s dad.” I announced, looking at Jades who’s sitting right across from me. His eyes were glued to his phone again. Jeez, this man has an ego. He glared up at me like it was some kind of secret that was meant to be kept quiet. “So does that mean we’ll get into trouble if we smoke pot or use drugs?” Jordan asks. I swallow the bile rising in my throat. “Relax, beautiful, I was just joking.” I can feel the friction leaving my shoulders while he smiles at me. For a moment I honestly thought I was hanging out with drug addicts. The waiter brought our drinks and everyone gulped down their beer like its water and ordered round two. I’m starting to regret coming with them. “Sit closer, I won’t bite,” Jordan says making me feel more uncomfortable than I was ten seconds ago. I tried to ignore his gesture, but he moved up his chair closer to mine. I have to admit, he’s attractive, even with all the tattoos and piercings. I let go of the tension I’m feeling and decided to just go with it. Another lady walked into the bar with a black hat and long black tights and a red coat. I can’t really see her face, but seeing everyone’s face’s holding a smile, I guess it must be one of their friends. “Hey, sorry I’m late, my Mother’s jackass of a boyfriend turned up drunk and pushed her around.” She’s quite beautiful. One of those girls that would go into fashion. Although she has a nose piercing and a few tattoos, she still looks more decent than the rest of them. Jade stands up and gave her an intense kiss. I guess they’re a couple. He smiled, and for most of the night, his face was not glued to his phone. Jordan still pushed his chair closer and closer to mine, but I tried to ignore his attempts to seduce me. Everyone is having their own conversations, while Jordan hooks his arms around me. At first, I left it, but he moved them to my legs and I jump up in fear. “What are you doing?” I ask while everyone is glaring at me. “Oh common, don’t tell me you don’t want me? I can see it in your eyes.” The rest of the gang is laughing while he stares at me with a grin on his face. “Come sit down.” he showed his hand for me to sit down. “f**k off man, can’t you see she’s not interested?” Jade all of a sudden speaks out. His girlfriend, whose name I don’t know yet, is glaring at him with curiosity in her eyes. “What’s your problem?” Jordan asked, gulping down the rest of his beer. Jade’s not answering him. Instead, he hooks his arms around his girlfriend. I stand in shock as the rest starts talking again like nothing happened. I sit down and try to not make a big deal out of it. After all, I don’t know where we are, and to call my Mother to fetch me will only cause problems. “That’s it, baby, sit down,” Jordan says, staring at me with blazing eyes. I ignored the flirtation coming from him, but clearly Jade had enough. He leaned over the table and punched him in the face with his fist. I don’t know why? He has a girlfriend, but I have a feeling it’s about more than just Jordan flirting with me. “What a f**k dude?” Jordan yells, using his hand to wipe off the blood spilling out of his mouth. Jade turned his face towards me with what almost looked like pain and anger mixed in his eyes. “Let’s go.” he grabs my hand. I don’t ask questions. I chose to rather leave with him. “What about me?” Jade’s girlfriend yells as we rush to the door. “You can catch a ride with Mandy,” he yells back. The air is cool outside, and the snow is falling heavily. We both stand in silence outside. I have no idea where we are, and it doesn’t look like Jade knows how to get home. “Jade?” I called in a soft tone. I’m cold and want to go home, but he’s pacing back and forth on the sidewalk. I can see his anger, I just don’t know why? “Just give me a damn minute to think,” he responds with annoyance. Never in my entire life have I met such a rude person. Even if he stuck up for me with Jordan, I still don’t appreciate his tone. “Well, sorry if you need time to think. I’m cold and would like to go home. I can always go inside and ask Jordan to take me home?” I dare to protest and make things worse. “f**k no.” he took off his jacket and placed it around my arms. He finally called his father to come and pick us up. He looks nervous after the call but still stands in stillness while we wait for his father. I finally saw headlights coming from far even with the snow halting my view. Jade looks more nervous than he was 10 minutes ago. He drags his hands through his hair in a frustrating manner while I keep my eyes on him to try and figure out why he acts so nervous and what a hell he did earlier? We both climb in the back of the seat, Jade not even greeting his father. “What we’re you thinking coming to a bar? And why must I pick you up?” Mr Summers asks glaring at Jade in the rear mirror. Jade’s not answering instead he stares out of the window. “I’m talking to you?” “It’s none of your business. I don’t ask you what you do after hours and with who.” Jade spits like a venomous cobra. I can’t move a muscle. The tension is running high in the car, and Jade and his father arguing make me feel even more nervous than I was before. I should’ve never agreed to go with Jade. I knew he didn’t want me to go with him, but like always, I like to have the upper hand. “You will not talk to me like this, you hear me you little shit.” Mr Summers yells, and my ears are buzzing as his voice echoes through the small space in the car. “f**k you, Dad, stop the car,” Jade yells back. “I said stop the f*****g car.” Mr Summers turns his back slightly but kept his eyes still focus on the road. His fist connects with Jade’s jaw, making Jade open the door to climb out. “Please stop,” I scream out of fear. What a hell is going on? Mr Summers stopped the car and Jade jumped out. He showed his hand for me to get out, but I shook my head. “Laura, please get out of the car.” he practically begs. He doesn’t want me to be in the car with his Father, and for a weird reason, I trust the fear I see on his face and climb out. His father spins his million-dollar car away when Jade threw a stone at the car. “What was that about?” I ask, while he walks up and down the road. “Nothing, I will make another plan to get you home.” “Don’t bother, I will find my way back.” I felt annoyed and cold. I started walking when Jade turned me around to face him. “You actually have no idea what’s going on do you?” he asks, his eyes soft, almost looks like he’s miserable, something must have happened that’s making him act out against his father, but I have no clue why he would think I know what’s going on. “No, tell me?” I ask with a soft voice, but he let go of my arms and turned around. A car passed by, stopping to ask if we need help. Jade talked to the stranger and showed me to come closer. We climb into the unknown person’s car, while Jade gave him the directions to his house. I’ve never felt so scared and upset in one night.
