Chapter 3

INTERIOR. HWANGBO HYEJUNG'S LIVINGROOM. NIGHT

Furniture are gathered on one side and covered with white cloth and plastics. A lot of boxes are stack next to it. Half of the room is empty. Hwangbo Hye Jung and Cho Hwa Jung are in the Kitchen putting some the dining ware and utensils in boxes.

CHOI HWA JEONG

(restless and keeps on looking at Hwangbo Hye Jung)

(putting glasses in the box)

(putting plates in the box)

CHOI HWA JEONG

(gets the plates from Hwangbo Hye Jung's hand, puts it down on the table and holds both Hwangbo Hye Jung's hands)

You see... (in a very sad and pitiful tone)

the tenants on the apartment I promised you asked for an extension to stay in the house for three weeks more.

They are in a difficult circumstances and it will be very cruel of me to force them out of the place.

The doorbell rings. Hwangbo Hye Jung looks at the direction of the door while Cho Hwa Jeong breathes a sigh of relief. The doorbell rings once more and Hwangbo rushes to the door.

HWANGBO HYE JUNG

That must be them.

Hwangbo Hye Jung opens the door. KIM DONG WAN and SHIN YE SUNG, two men in their early thirties appears as she opens the door. All three seems very happy to see each other and greet each other like men.

KIM DONG WAN

(excitedly greeting)

Hello! (simple greeting compares to the excited Kim Dong Wan)

The truck is already downstairs.

The two walk to the living room followed by Hwangbo Hye Jung. They greet Cho Hwa Jung who has returned to putting the dining ware into the boxes.

KIM DONG WAN

Good evening, Noona! (bows down)

SHIN HYE SUNG

(bows down) Good evening, Noona!

(nervously replies)

You three can start moving the boxes now.

EXTERIOR. OUTSIDE THE HOUSE/BY THE TRUCK. NIGHT

Kim Dong Wan lifting the boxes to the truck while Hwangbo Hye Jung is arranging them inside.

HWANGBO HYE JUNG

I don't know how old they or whether they are pretty.

I haven't met them.

(changes tone and talks a little more ladylike)

I move faster than Dong Wan.

Kim Dong Wan who is not very happy to witness how different Hwangbo Hye Jung's to Shin Ye Sung, walks back to the door.

(yells from the door without looking at the two)

Choi Hwa Jeong who witnessed everything from the window gives out a sigh.

Hwangbo opens the door and goes outside to talk to the two.

KIM DONG WAN/ SHIN HYE SUNG

(taps her shoulder)

Choi Hwa Jeong didn't get out avoiding being asked by the two men about Hwangbo's housemate. She is walking nervously walking back and forth. Her phone rings. She answers it.

Kim Dong Wan was walking ahead of Shin Hye Sung and walks pass Kim Hyun Joong, while Shen Hye Sung and Kim Hyung Joong bump against each other shoulder to shoulder. Both look seriously at each other but no one give an apology. They just stared at each other and both walk away towards opposite direction.

INTERIOR. LIVING ROOM OF THE APARTMENT. NIGHT

The door sounds as someone is opening. Kim Hyun Joong enters the house and walks to the living room. He immediately saw Cho Hwa Jeong waiting in the living room. Cho Hwa Jeong stands up to greet him.

CHOI HWA JEONG

You're here!

We've been waiting for you.

KIM HYU JEONG

(bows down)

I'm sorry!

My band had an event tonight.

CHOI HWA JEONG

(bows down a little and waves her hand to dismiss his apology)

Don't worry about it.

We're actually sorry that we move here while you weren't home.

(towards Hwangbo Hye Jung who is in the Kitchen)

Hye Jung this is Kim Hyun Joong.

He and his younger brother is occupying the other room.

Hwangbo Hye Jung saw him comes in and realizes who he is, is frozen to her place. She is surprised as if she's seen a ghost. Both look at Choi Hwa Jeong but can't find words to say to her. Kim Hyun Joong rushes to his room without saying a word. Hwangbo Hye Jung is suddenly weak on the knees sits on the kitchen floor.

INTERIOR. KIM HYUN JOONG'S ROOM. NIGHT

Kim Hyung Joong comes entered the room and immediately closes it. Leans his back towards the door and closes his eyes. Tears starts rolling down his cheeks.

KIM HYUNG JOONG

(whispering to the urn)

(touching and gently rubbing the urn) (still whispering)

Cho Hwa Jeong who is also surprised by the unexpected reaction of the two new housemates seems about to freak out. She has prepared some explanation and answers to all the possible answers to their questions but she isn't ready to the way the two reacted. She walks towards Hwangbo who is still sitting on the kitchen floor.
