And finally...she looks at me after I make a comment.I knew Eva wasn't going to look at me until the end of the meeting.
I couldn't take it.I had to do something.
When our gazes hold,I make my face blank and suck out the emotions in my eyes.I can't let her see what I'm asking.Or what I'm trying to say.
Not when Maya is sitting beside me,holding my hand and leaning her head on my shoulder.
This is a board room for crying out loud.Why can't she read the room?Literally.
Eva takes her eyes off of me after acknowledging my comment.
She continues with her speech,making sure to drop valid points that I'm sure Mark will attest to.
She's so f*****g good at this.I'd never expected Eva to be anything else but a writer but it turns out she's great at this too.
