  Aaron's POV   "What was that all about?" He asks, stepping back into the elevator. "You two seem to know each other outside business."   I stare at the closing elevator doors. The space where Eva stood a moment ago feels empty, a void I can't seem to fill.   I can still feel the echo of her arm in my hand, the desperate way she pulled away.   "Eva?" He asks again, and I turn to him. "Why did she run off like that?"   I force a shrug, trying to appear nonchalant, but my mind is racing. "Just an old friend. Things are just hectic with the campaign and she had some embarrassing situation the other day."   The elevator dings on the ground floor, and the doors open.
