"What's going on?" Kian crouched next to Samirah and caressed her messy hair.
Heaving his voice, Samirah looked up. Her face fell and she hooked her arms around his neck. Burying her head in his neck to seek comfort.
"Aunt won't tell me what's going on with her. I don't know what to do. I am so worried about her. I am so sorry Kian. I don't think I will be able to go on our trip. I want to be able to enjoy ourselves. I can't do that if I am thinking about something else the whole time."
Kian held her in his embrace and gently caressed her hair. He nodded along to her words.
"Alright, don't worry about it. It's just a trip. We can go anytime we want. It's not a big deal, why are you so sad over it? Tell me what is bothering you? What happened to aunt Iris?"
