Chapter 13 Luke froze at the menacing tone coming from the darkness near my building. His grip on my tightened and he eased me behind him, putting himself between me and Mike. “Who’s there?” Luke asked, venom slipping into his voice. He wasn’t afraid, and he wasn’t backing down. I respected the hell out of him for that. Mike stepped into the light and Luke heaved a sigh of relief. “Damn, Mike, you scared the s**t out of me.
