When we finally left work I climbed into my Audi and drove home. Mike was going to grab dinner on the way and then be over. I felt like I needed a shower, but since he didn’t have a key, I knew it would have to wait. Besides, shower s*x was always fun.
As soon as I got home my phone started ringing. I glanced at it quickly and saw my mom’s name on the screen. “Hi, Mom.”
“Hello, Alexandria. How are you sweetie?”
I smiled, thinking about Mike. “I’m good, Mom. How’s Henry?”
Mom paused then said, “Henry’s good.” I could hear the smile in her voice and it made me happy. Mom had spent too many years alone and miserable. She deserved some happiness. I was glad she’d finally found it with Henry.
