Moving in did happen, right before Thanksgiving. By then Ellis was more than ready, if only because it would save Martin from strangling Todd. The boy was beyond excited about the whole idea and had even begun packing his things.
“Only,” Martin complained wryly, “to have to unpack something because he needed it. He wasn’t this bad when we moved here.”
Ellis patted Martin’s shoulder in commiseration. “He was only what? Two when that happened?”
“Almost three, but yeah, you have a point.”
As closing on the house neared, Ellis and Martin considered exactly what they’d be bringing from each household. Everything in Ellis’s studio was a given. They debated on living room furniture, deciding to use Martin’s since it was newer, which fit the Victorian style of the house. On the oth
