Fall arrived. With it came the start of school. I was usually somewhat reluctant to go back, but after the trial and the threat of losing all of this, I was happy to return to the students and books. Andy still hadn’t heard about his exams. After a week and a half he started sitting on the front stoop waiting for the mail carrier. After two and a half weeks he began walking down the street to meet the mail carrier. After a month he called MSU to see what was going on. He got the run around and decided he had flunked. I tried to encourage him, but he was sure he hadn’t cut it. He was so upset with MSU he wore U of M’s maize and blue on the day of the rivalry game. Fall also brought Peter’s and Patti’s birthdays.
