This is the first appearance of “A Temptation Too Far.” The story is set in Isle of Wight county, Virginia, on the banks of the James River. We used to live in Smithfield, home of the famous hams, and it could be a good day or a bad day, depending on which way the wind was blowing and provided you didn’t get stuck driving behind a truck loaded with hogs.
I fell in love with the area—the peaceful beauty and the historic richness—and some of my favorite stories take place there.
