Darkness was always so eager to engulf the light

So you want someone real, Twilight's words echoed in my brain. "You are not real, you are not real you are not real," I started chanting in low tone am sure Alex couldn't make the words that I was saying.

"Anna what's happening, why are you talking to yourself?" Asked Alex still confused.

"come, I'll tell you everything when we reach home." I pulled his hand.

"Anna wait tell me what's going on" he stopped

"Please lets go home, take me home please," it was a plea.

I guess he saw how desperate I was to get out of there because he obliged.

We were just about to go down the stairs when I looked behind and saw Twilight again. I almost tripped but Alex pulled me back and the next thing I saw was Alex rolling down the stairs.

"Aleeeeeex!" I screamed.

Everything turned into slow motion, my voice only echoed in the park "Somebody help! Someone call the ambulance please!" I screamed as I rushed down the stairs.

I didn't even notice it was steep anymore. When I reached when he landed he wasn't moving at all.

"Please Alex, Alex..." I was sobbing and I was so scared to even touch him.

"Heeeeelp" I yelled again and before I knew it the park attendants rushed to where we were.

"Move maam" one of them said but I was in shock and I couldn't move.

All of a sudden someone carried me and I don't know if it was my imagination running wild or anything but I think I saw Twilight on the other side of the park. The ambulance came and quickly he was taken to the hospital.

Everything was a blur I don't what happened next but we were at the hospital. If you ask me how I got here or the events that happened I wouldn't tell. I was moving like a zombie. I filled in his admission form since he had to be rushed to the operating room.

I called his mom and she came in the waiting room like a tornado.

"Anna! Anna! Where is my son!" someone shook me, without even looking at the one calling me, I pointed in the Operating room.

"Anna! Anna! my darling are you okay?" a familiar voice that I could recognize anywhere spoke. It was my mom. Seeing her there only broke me down, I cried out while she hugged me tight. I really needed it, I was afraid that if she let go of me I would break.

"What happened Anna? How did this happen?' Asked Alex's mother when she could not get anything from the nurses whom were running in and out the ER

"I... I... don't know, everything happened so fast," I started to cry again.

"Hush! Baby hush! Now, you don't have to talk." My mom tried to soothe me.

"We were about to go down the stairs, an... and I tripped.." I started

"mom it's my fault, it's my fault that he's in there it's all my fault" I almost yelled.

"I should be the one in there not him, why do bad things happen to good people? I just want to die" I was becoming hysterical, pulling my hair and it was true that I felt like dying.

It was my fault that Alex fell down, if I wasn't in a hurry the accident wouldn't have happened.

Mom and dad tried to comfort me but it wasn't working. I was so devastated. I didn't even know when dad arrived. When I couldn't come down a nurse was called and before I knew it I was sedated. My body felt limp and before I could hit the ground my dad held me and I was placed on a wheelchair and taken into a room. After that everything went black.

When I woke up I was disoriented, when I looked around the room I almost screamed. What was I doing at the hospital?

That's when the memories came flashing in. we took Lydia to the park then Alex and I went to have breakfast. Then we went the park.

Alex! oh my God Alex!

I quickly got out of the bed and rushed outside the room, I almost bumped into my mom.

"Anna stop, you not feeling well," She said with a concerned voice.

"Alex, please take me to Alex" I croaked.

My mom had no choice but to agree when she saw the stubborn look on my face.

Alex' condition was so critical. The doctors were taking so long and the nurses were rushing in and out. I was getting nervous by every second, then I saw Twilight again, around the corner, I quickly rushed towards him but he was gone. A part of me thought that he might be responsible but no, that was impossible, he was just an illusion and nothing more.

Finally the operation was over. The doctor came and we all rushed to listen to the news

"Doctor how my son is? Is he okay?" Asked Alex' father asked.

"He is now out of danger" the doctor answered. We all breathe out a sigh of relief after that incredible news. He was going to be okay, he wasn't going to die.

"But the bad news is..."

what the heck! Bad news? Why didn't he just start with that before the good one,

"What do you mean bad news doctor?" asked Alex' mother.

The doctor had a sombre look, it's true what they say doctors show no emotion "Doctor!" My dad called out slowly .

"He has fallen into a deep coma' he finally said.

"Coma?" my voice was a squeak.

"So when is he going to wake up?"

"We can't really tell when but it's a good thing that he was brought in time. The swelling in his brain has stopped and we have to do now is pray," he went on.

I felt like someone stepping on my chest. I just couldn't help but to think that it was all my fault.

The second week of December arrived, the week of the results to be released. I was eagerly waiting. I was a little bit nervous but I knew I had aced the exams. My parents and I had already looked into possible universities that I would attend and dad as usual was ready with the fee. I was so excited, finally I would go to campus and to my favourite one, ISIU.

I kept on visiting Alex every day and I would talk to him about my day. Sometimes I would read for him a book that I was currently reading. He wasn't showing any progress but I didn't mind. I knew he would one day wake up.

Every night when I went to be sleep, Twilight kept on begging me to take him back but my answer was still no.

"But I love you!" he yelled out of frustration

"And I don't!" I fired back.

"Don't you get that? I. Don't. Love. You .Anymore" I stressed each word

"Why? Is it because of that kid in the hospital?" he fumed.

I was getting tired of him already; he had come from being an understanding friend and boyfriend to stalker spirit "Yes! I love him and not you!" I lied.

I wanted him off my back and if making him think that I love somebody else would make him go away, man was I wrong

"You betrayed me"

"You liar! I gave you everything and this is how you repay me?" he was furious.

"Twilight.." I tried to speak when he suddenly started changing. He became darker and so was the dream land, dark clouds started covering the sky and so were his eyes.

"Twilight, what is happening" I whispered terrified. Were the nightmares coming back.

Was this happening because he was leaving? He once told me that he had come into my life to save me from my nightmares.

"If you can't be mine, I will make sure you don't belong to anyone else!" he said with a threatening voice. That is when it dawned on me, he wasn't leaving,

"Why.,.why..Why are your eyes so dark?' I stammered in fear.

Why was he sounding like those pshyco i watched in movies?
