NICOLE I start my new job, and I have to admit that I’m excited, to say the least. It’s always exciting to start in a new place where you’ll meet new people, too. I don’t know what to expect from such a job, because I’ve never done waitressing before, and I’ve never worked behind a counter. I get there early because the café opens at seven thirty, and my boss seems pleased with that. Bonus points for me. He shows me around and gives me a few lessons on how to deal with the register and whatnot. It’s all fairly easy. I’ll mostly be serving people because there’s a barista, but later on, they’ll show me how to serve drinks. He’s a little touchy, but I’ve been imposing myself so far, so I’m not too worried.
