A week before Christmas
Day 1
Bram trailed a few steps behind her.
“What’s going on with you?” Bram asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and concern.
“Nothing much,” slipping her hand into his. “I just need to figure this out on my own, so… I need some space.”
A car rolled up, and Todd stepped out. Dahlia bolted toward him, and he wrapped her up in a tight hug.
“I need you,” she murmured.
“I’m here,” Todd said, shrugging off his bag. “Let me ditch this, and we’ll talk.” Jason appeared around the side of the car.
Dahlia threw her arms around him. “Jason, thanks for coming.”
“Todd can’t function without you,” Jason said with a smirk. “Guess I can’t either. So, here we are.”
“Jason, I want you full-time at my company,” Dahlia said. “Quit the other job and take my offer.”
