After hanging up the phone with Mr. DeChante, Megan felt her sense of peace slip away. With a call to the dogs, she broke up their playtime, and once they were all in the golf cart, headed back to her house. She let the dogs out on the screened porch to soak up some late afternoon sun while she grabbed her laptop and sunglasses and joined them.
