Kate's Mystical pen

WAR TIME STORY

CHAPTER 5

On his way down stairs, Mr. Wood carefully took his step remembering his wife's mystery disappearance. 

It was at the back of the house,under the birch tree near the river. Mrs Wood was fund of sitting there every evening till late at night, she didn't seem to be a happy woman. after having her first baby(Kate) she bacame worse having a child was like a thorn in her flesh, she wasn't ready to have a baby. she didn't want her child to live a sad life she does and now the baby is a girl saddened her the most. she didn't want to put ilher innocent daughter in pain,so she often avoided her into the hands of the concerned father and the maids. but you know,the child who is just too fund of her mother would cry all day until she's being attended by her mother would rock her to sleep singing " the red and blue crystal I am, o! daughter, yo want to see..." she sings to her in her solemn melodious voice and this often make the child sleep.

Mr Wood was jolted back the presence of the Stanley's who had been waiting for his arrival. "Mr Wood, is everything wrong with the girl, I hope she's fine now" Mr. Stanley said. " Everything has ever been wrong ever since her mother disappearance" he thought. 

"Oh yes she is.." "am just wondering if what happened to her.." Mr Wood was cut short by the powerful thundering thunder,it started raining so suddenly. The maids and guards began to run helters to pull the blinds in the hall down.

Kate was weeping on her bed, but the weather seem repelling, she quietly slipped from the to stand by the window viewing things below her.

Taking a deep breathe, she could feel the peace around her, only if every other moments could be like that and the past was, perhaps she would be happy. Opening her eyes she saw an image ok the same haggered woman but she seem quiet and nice now though still ugly. "What the..." she said agaped but was shut by choarse voice of the woman, "oh child... youve grown to be a sweet girl..." from her confused eyes, Kate was surprised with this revelation, who is she to tell her she is her child.

Mr. Wood ran inside her room panting, Kate who is now quiet looked at her dad with a questioning face and as well pointing to the window with her opened mouth. "Dad is there something I'm missing" she said crossing her arms and sitting by the edge of her bed. Mr Wood not knowing exactly what to say, stroke her finger across his beards up to his head. "uhmm..."

"I met your mum, when i was lost in a funnel" he began. There was a break down of war between the two kingdoms the whole world was in a state of dilemma everyone fighting for their lives, I lost my family and I was alone.

In the midst of getting myself safe, some strange and weird looking people were slaughtering the normal people, I mean people like me, terrified I took to my heels running as fast as possible and I found myself in a place I couldn't describe then it was dawned on me that am in an everlasting tunnel.

Hungry and tired, I kept wandering round perhaps to get a clue of how to get out even though I wasn't ready but I kept going back to where I came from. I could hear some strange movement, thought I was alone until then and was gripped with fear, i knew instantly I was about to die, I had no weapon to fight with even if I have, I wouldn't be able to implement it.

I was left with no choice but to kneel surrendering to whatever comes, few minutes later,the sound continues and was curious about what was making the noice. Paying more attention made me figure out where the noise came and I followed through, getting there my jaw dropped" Mr. Wood said with a broad smile, "I saw the prettiest woman ever" he continued. 

"I didn't care if that was a sabotage to get me down, but you know I was ready for anything that follows, I was ready to die but the sight of this lady took me to different beautiful and peaceful imaginations

        Lost in thought, I didn't know when she grabbed my hands, she has been weeping. Then I realised she was in pain and now weak, her skin was turning white. I did my best just to make her survive, after two weeks she regained her strength again and now really energetic. 

"Dad, I'm getting confused, has the war ended and did you finally know the way out" Kate asked

"oh, I forgot to tell you, while wandering I for to a very beautiful place inside where we were to get the lady a food, it was full of very rich foods of different kind, it seem eternal.

"Wow" "Yes girl,continuing from where I stopped" Mr Wood continued. Kate listened with rapt attention crossing her legs and cuddling her pillow

"She bacame very energetic,very strong. Among every other ladies have ever seen, hers is just very different but she couldn't talk, she could read my thought, a very caring woman" he said fighting the tears gathering in his eyes.

"After a very long time we decided to look for a way out to see if the war ended, surprisingly we got it easily but the war just ended, everywhere was silent with very few people. Some dying, some sick, some really injured,. We took everyone inside the place I later called 'Wood's palace' because I discovered it and we all started a new life, got married to that lady who is your mother" he paused smiking waiting for Kate's comment but ahe was quiet. 'your mum" he repeated.

"oh" Kate exclaimed "where is she now?"
