Chapter Twenty-Six
The key was right where Recca said it was. So was the crystal. I didn't get ambushed, and I didn't pick up any tails. If I'm honest, I was a little surprised that I didn't run into any trouble. Recca was holding up her end.
As soon as I got back to Lilly's apartment, I emailed Recca the address of the midtown building and the other details I had learned about the Pedersens and the shady real estate deals. I also included a way for her to contact me. An email dead drop. I have a few of them that I set up to allow people to contact me when they need to, should I care to hear from them. Each individual gets their own mailbox. That way, if one is compromised, the others remain safe. And I know where my security leak is.
And then, I had nothing left to do but wait.
