Aubrey’s POV
I blame the doctor, the hormones, and even Jude for talking me into keeping this baby! Jude, with his declaration that he couldn’t be with someone who would murder his baby. The doctor with his fetal heart rate listening device that made me confront the truth that I truly do have a real live human parasite inside of me, and not just some abstract concept. The hormones that make me WANT that stupid little parasite, despite all of my career plans and life’s ambitions I had wanted to achieve during the next few years!
What a mess I’ve landed myself into, all because I was hot for the building maintenance man! And because I failed to educate myself and understand the limitations of my ‘highly effective’ birth control. That part is definitely on me!
