Chapter NineteenAll the paraphernalia needed for television was in place. It was to be a live broadcast, with the cameras of four TV networks focused on the dais. As the main meeting was planned for later in the afternoon, it was scheduled as a brief event. Nevertheless it was important, being the first introduction of the Alien Chief to the President of the United States. The viewing figures could be astronomic.
Toby Simpson was almost eerily calm. Anticipating events seemed so utterly childish; things would happen when they happened. His even-mindedness amazed him as much as anyone else. There could only be one explanation: the daily company of the Captain.
