Chapter Twenty-EightThe Iranian Ambassador had not been summoned but had requested a meeting with the Prime Minister. This Bob Shaw had been pleased to grant as it heralded a rational approach to what could prove an embarrassing incident. Shaw had met the Ambassador a number of times and considered him a dignified and cultured man. The request came early in the morning following the stand-off at Yeovil; clearly the adverse publicity was, to say the least, unwelcome. This news had also prompted an outraged reaction from the retired naval man who had spotted the submarine and he no longer felt obliged to hold his peace. So the rumours of six men landing were confirmed.
