"Babe." Blanca called with so much affection in her voice. "Hey." Bruno said reaching out his hand to hold hers as he sat up on the bed. She sat on his lap and kissed his left cheek. Bruno's face reddened. "Even after so many years, you still blush!" Blanca laughed. "Have I told you how much I love you?" Bruno asked interlocking his fingers with hers and stared into her eyes. She curled her left arm around his neck and swinged her neck to refuse. He rolled his eyes and laughed. "Well, I love you." Bruno said. "I can't hear you. What did you say?" "That's your problem missy." Blanca touched her chest. "Ouch! That hurts." They laughed. When their laughter died off, Bruno said, "I am joking. I love you Cita." "We should start planning for our wedding while things are still good between our families. What do you think Bruno?" She thought it was the right thing to do after all they had been through in the past two years. Moreover, they had been together for a long time and it was time to make the next move. Three years in high school and two since Blanca came back from Harvard. Marriage? Bruno asked himself. It was at the back of his mind. Now that Aurora was back, he didn't know whether he should take the step. He was very confused. Did he love Aurora or Blanca? The prodigal child or the great business tycoon? Blanca seemed more stable he thought. She was the ideal woman to start a family with moreover to clean his public image. He was once a womanizer and an alcoholic due to Juan Karlos's death. Ever since he got back with Blanca, the press has spared his reputation. He was so mesmerised with the thoughts that he couldn't hear Blanca at all. She became angry seeing that he was not focused on her. "Bruno!" She shook him back to reality. "I am talking to you." "I am sorry...yes, a wedding will make our bond even stronger." He recalled. "I want to make you my wife, the mother of my children. I love you Blanca Altamira." "And I also want to make you my husband, I love you Bruno William Santa Cruz." They became silent and starred into each other's eyes. He grabbed her waist making her sit on the bed. They now faced each other. She closed their eyes as he positioned his head to touch her lips with his. He made her lie on the bed. Their sync was so perfect that they had been practicing for so many years. Blanca began to have stomach cramps. She drifted away from Bruno's arms on remembering what her gynecologist said. "Babe, stop...Bruno!" "Bru- He gently grabbed her bottom lip with his teeth and sucked it. "Babe, stop! I can't do it anymore... He stopped kissing her. "What is it...am I rushing?" "No way. You are always the best my love." She smiled and continued, "remember the what the doctor said? Let us wait for my recovery. " He sat up. "Come on Blanca! It has been months since we haven't been intimate. Am tired of waiting." He touched her cheek. "I love you Blanca and I don't want anything bad to happen to you, but I am a man and I have needs. I am tired of waiting for you." He said in a harsh tone making her to feel bad. He saw it and calmed down. He smiled "By the way you are irresistible, and I can't control myself." He tickled her waist trying to cheer her up. It worked. She giggled. "You are unbelievable Bruno. I know, I know that I haven't had a crisis lately, but we have to wait until the specialist is certain that am fully recovered." "And how long is that?" Blanca shrugged. "I don't know." "So, another man should tell me when to touch my girlfriend. I can't believe this." Bruno was offended. He was angered by her constant rejection. It was making him man less. He looked into her eyes and saw she was also hurting inside. He wanted to hold her and apologise but he had to be rude with her for once. For her to see that it was killing his manhood. She neither wanted to stop him nor hurt him but after her miscarriage, her health has been at stake. She sat on the bed watching him put on his shoes. She didn't utter a word knowing how violent he could be when he was angry. Though he wouldn't hurt her, he would hurt himself. She knelt on the bed and sat on her legs. "Where are you going? Please, don't leave me all alone!" She touched both his shoulders from behind. "Don't touch me Blanca." He pushed her away. "I need a break from you and all these problems we have!" "From me? Why me? I hope you don't want leave me again because this time we aren't getting back together." He turned and bent to her level. She smiled thinking that he had changed his mind. "Blanca, don't say something that is beyond your control." He kissed her forehead, "you are mine even though you can be impossible." "Please, don't go." She insisted in a low tone closing her eyes as if she would cry in attempt to make him stay. She touched his arm, but he pulled away. "I need some space." He said and got out of the room. ~~~***~~~ It was around five in evening; the sun was already setting. People were leaving after a long hot day at the Santa Monica beach. It was now quiet and peaceful. Just the way Bruno likes it. He sat down leaning against a palm tree, gazing at the ocean, at its beauty. With his mind battling to understand why he was having continuous problems in his life. "If it isn't mom pestering me about leaving Blanca, then it is José wanting me to work my ass off at the company. I don't know why he doesn't understand that am not some robot! If not that, then it is Blanca's condition and her family. Argh especially that Elena, she doesn't stop...Blanca this, Blanca that...oh come on!" Bruno loved Blanca with everything he had but was fed up with all the stumbling blocks between them. He just wanted a woman with less complications. He violently picked up some sand throwing it away as if it was responsible for his problems. He wished he had listened to his father's words when he introduced Aurora to his family. "When you get involved with an Altamira, you are touching burning iron. The scar it leaves is permanent and terrible." Juan Karlos his father would say. While in his thoughts, a tennis ball landed besides him. He ignored thinking it was some kid who threw it. He closed his eyes and continued from where he left off with his thoughts. A dog ran and crushed into Bruno and started licking his face knocking him back to his senses. He became annoyed. "Diego! Diego come on boy, stop it!" The dog stopped and stood still looking at him with its tongue stuck out. It could see he was sad. It locked the tennis ball on the sand into its teeth and threw it to him showing that it wants to play. While they were playing, Aurora waited for Diego to return with the ball. She sat down throwing balls of sand into the water. She loved being at the beach. It was the only place she could think properly. She enjoyed being alone with her thoughts. Something Bruno and her shared. She wanted to get some space to think about her life now that she had left acting and was back home. After a while, she voiced out her thoughts. "If I stay here forever, I must get a job since father isn't willing to give me my shares. Oh, that man is something else!" She frowned her face. "He forgets that it is his fault that I escaped to Spain." She placed her legs forward and the waves hit her toes. She stared at the horizon with her thoughts far away. "Or maybe I should get a job at A.C." Remembering she didn't have a business degree, she hit her forehead. Dammit! I need a degree to join the family business. "Obtaining one with take forever, I need something quick." Bruno came to her thoughts. Oh God! Maybe I should leave the country. "I cannot break the promise I made to Blanca, but I miss and want him in my life." She sighed, pushed her hair back and moved her hands down her neck to the sand. The giggles of two kids passing by brought her back to her senses and she realised that Diego wasn't back and looked around but there was no sign of him making her to worry. She quickly got up, dusted the sand on her floral short dress and went searching. "Diego!" She called out loudly, "Diego! Diego!" She became annoyed. "Come on dog! Where the hell are you?!" After a long time, she called out again. "Diego come please, am sorry. Diego!" She spotted a human and dog near a Palm tree. She ran there and found him in Bruno's arms, playing with each other. It was so adorable, she thought. He looked up and smiled, "I didn't know he was with you. He is a special dog I tell you." She knelt and sat on her legs. "I guess so." She rubbed Diego's back. "I had a deep connection with Diego. May his soul rest in peace. Our bond was one of a kind." She flipped back the hair that covered her eyes. He starred with seriousness into her eyes, "One just like ours used to be until ran away because of that night you saw Blanca and I." She gulped. "I didn't run away because of that." Aurora defended herself. "Then why did you leave your family? Wasn't it because of me that you left Mrs. Elena in misery?" Bruno's face reddened with anger. "How can you do that?" Her eyes became watery. "No. I would never leave my mother because of a man. Why I left is none of your concerns. Your worry should be Blanca and your family. Not me." Bruno ran his fingers through his hair and massaged the nape of his neck. He was stressed out. "Mother believes you killed father as you were the last person he saw. She wants you behind bars." Aurora's heart pondered and her eyes widened. Why is this happening to me? She gathered the strength to speak to him and tell him the truth. "None of what Eva says is true. You know me Bruno." "No, I don't. I don't know this person standing in front of me. The Aurora I knew would never run away because of my betrayal... She interrupted him. "That night made me realise that this passion we had was forbidden!" Aurora said stressing out the word forbidden. "You betrayed my love for you." Bruno held her left palm seeing how hurt she was. "I am sorry about that. Please forgive me. I know I cannot change what happened, but I can work on the present to make the future much better. Please give me a chance to fix everything." She got up in fury. "What will you fix Bruno? You think you are God, and you can fix everything. You cannot fix this Bruno. You broke my trust!" She calmed down. "You broke me Bruno." She pulled back the tears that were about to fall. Bruno stood up and faced her. "I am so sorry. Please tell me why you left? For the past years, I believed I was the cause of your disappearance. Please relieve of this burden in my heart." He held her hands. For a minute, she had forgotten the world and her heart allowed him to touch her. "Rita...look into my eyes...don't turn, do you love me Aurora?" She harshly let go from his hands on hearing that. "No. No Bruno. I don't even have the slightest feelings for you! Bruno, you played my heart! You are just a dog, you are heartless!" Aurora gained some confidence to say that. "Oh wow, really Aurora?" Bruno was amazed. "You know, ever since you came back you have been nothing but a bitter, spiteful woman. The old Aurora knew how to build people, not break them down." "Argh! Oh, spare me Mother Teresa!" She rolled her eyes opening her palms. "I don't love you Bruno! Back then, it was a mistake to do so – a teenage girl thing." She herself couldn't believe her own words. If it were up to her, she would run into his muscular arms and be there forever. She loved and desired him greatly, but she had to push him away because of the promise she made to Blanca at the wedding. Promises were very sacred to her. While she was deep in thought she felt a gentle touch on her lips. It took her back to ten years earlier, when they made love at the same spot in the moonlight. Her body yearned...cried for him. She felt heat in her chest. "I know you still love me." Bruno whispered into her ear and brought her closer to his chest. It was something he was dying to do from when they met at the garden after a long time. Aurora nodded, unknown to her why she was allowing him to touch her. She wrapped her hands around his neck, caressing it with the tips of her fingers. He locked her lips with his. Slowly but gently and passionately, they kissed each other's lips. It became so intense that fire filled up their lips. Why wouldn't it be after spending ten years without seeing each other? "I missed you so much." Bruno exclaimed as he made her lean against a palm behind him. "I missed you too Willy." Bruno cupped her face in his hands and stared deep into her eyes. He beamed with joy for what she said. "My heart is in your hands. I love you greatly." "I love you." Aurora said from the depth of her heart. It was all she longed for. Being with his arms forever and ever with him exploring her body. She felt safe for the first time in years. The whole world disappeared right at her face. It was just Willy and Rita, the craziest couple in the world. But no! It was a lie; it was just too good to be true she thought. A flashback of when she saw Bruno making out with Blanca flashed the kiss into a big smack! "Don't ever kiss me again!" Aurora shouted as if she didn't want more than what they were having. She was fuming in anger remembering how everything is now that she was back. The man who claimed to love her was with another woman. Bruno rubbed the pain in his cheek. "We kissed each other." He pulled her back into his arms and ran his fingers down her cheeks. "Mmhm." She couldn't breath easily in his arms. "Stop denying it, you feel what I feel." Aurora violently pushed away. "I do not love you! Go to your Blanca!" She shouted, tired of saying it repeatedly. "You chose your own path so walk on it. You are the worst guy I have ever met in my life!" She clenched with fists. Her lips snarled with rage as she stormed away, vowing to never do such with him again.
