Bruno walked into the living room with Diego on his side. He found Blanca sitting with Julieta having tea. After what Aurora said, he decided to stay with Blanca and fix their relationship. He was done chasing a woman who despised him with all her heart. In all their encounters, he made so many attempts to win her back, but she never gave in. Why not chase a woman who loved him and would forgive every mistake he made?

Blanca heard footsteps, she looked up and saw Bruno walking towards her. "Julieta...

"Are you sure you can handle this?" Concerned Julieta asked knowing how Bruno was when he was angry.

Blanca smiled. "Yes." Hopefully, I will bring to his senses.

Julieta stood up and called for Diego to go with her. She waved at Bruno and he nodded.

"Hey." Bruno didn't know where to begin.

"Where were you? I was worried sick Bruno. You didn't even pick up my calls...

"I was at the beach." Bruno sat beside her and held her hands. "Forgive me my love. I was stressed out. A lot is happening in my life and having to deal with your rejection makes me explode."

Bruno raised his hand to silence her. "Don't act as if you don't want me."

She sat on his lap and wound her arms around his neck. "You know you are my obsession. But now we have to wait."

She took gentle steps down the stairs in stilettoes which matched the black suit she was wearing. As she went down, she spotted Bruno with a woman in his arms and zoomed out eyes to see the slut that was with her son. Argh! It is that Altamira girl! Her fists clenched and she breathed out heavily. She was fuming in anger. When will this end? First it was Jose who brought my enemy into my house and now Bruno. I have had enough. She marched down the stairs calling, "Bruno! Bruno!"

Blanca jumped up from Bruno and stood politely before the matriarch of the Santa Cruz mansion. She fixed her dress while trying to contain her nerves. She didn't fear anyone but Eva. For Eva was the one holding her future with Bruno. She controlled her children and always got her way and if not, she took extra measures.

"Bruno, how dare you!" Eva pulled Bruno from the couch.

"Mom!" Bruno shouted as he balanced his posture.

"Haven't I told you to stay away from Blanca? When will you understand that her and Aurora killed my husband, your father! She is a murderer, a python! A descendent of the great dragon thrown down from heaven!" Eva spat poison on Bruno's face. She was so obsessed with the issue that she couldn't realise she was pushing her children away. She gave birth to four beautiful children but was only left with one, Rosa.

Bruno became angered. "Thank God you are my mother or else...

"Or else what?" Eva said folding her arms. She was very confident that he wouldn't lay his hand on her. "You can never lay your hands on me."

Blanca held his arm as he was about to move. "Don't Bruno. She is your mother."

"No, allow him. Let us see if he will hit the woman who gave him a chance to live." Eva said let down her arms. "Bruno, I want the best for you but not with an Altamira!"

"I love her!" Bruno was tired of explaining the same thing to her.

Eva raised her hand to silence Blanca. "You better shut up or I will slap you to your deathbed."

Rosa and Jose heard the noise and went to check it out. Julieta didn't bother going knowing that it was Eva again on the Altamira's. She didn't want to be a part of it.

"That is not love. Is it love when you keep getting hurt?" Eva asked calmly with tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "Why don't you listen to the words of your father that you are touching burning iron?"

"Enough mother! Just because he had problems with Angel, it doesn't mean...

"It means it Bruno!" Rosa jumped in. "Are you dumb? What kind of portion did they give you and your brothers?!"

"Shut up Rosa!" Bruno shouted to the top of his voice.

Blanca didn't have the strength to fight off Eva, she run upstairs to Bruno's room.

"Mom, for the last time, stay out of my relationship with Blanca. Miguel left the house because of all your stupidity...

Miguel was a party animal so since Eva detested it, he left.

Eva smacked Bruno. "Are you calling me stupid, how dare you?!" She pointed her forefinger at him. "if you do not leave her, I'll be forced to disown you!"

"You disowned me many years back when you sent me to a boarding school in New York." Bruno said, rubbing the pain on his cheek. "You never loved me. You were ashamed of me. It makes no difference now if you throw me to the streets like Miguel."

Eva's heart dropped on hearing Bruno's words, but she was too proud to admit what she did decades back was bad. She thought she was doing him a favour by taking him to the other side of the country.

"Please excuse me." Bruno said.

Eva moved to the side so Bruno could pass. Afterwards, she threw herself to the couch while having a flashback of when she sent Bruno away.

José went closer and sat by Eva, "Mother, Bruno forgave you for taking him to a boarding school, but he won't if you separate him from Blanca. You have never levelled with Bruno; it is better you fix all this mess or you will never see him again like Miguel."

Eva turned and looked at Jose. "Help me to convince him that she isn't the right woman for him." She was adamant.

"I know but what can we do? He is head over heels for Blanca." He had given up on talking sense into Bruno that Blanca was toxic for him. She was CEO of A.C and Bruno's life. He didn't get why Bruno couldn't see it.

"Help me to find the evidence to put Aurora in prison for Juan Karlos's death," Eva answered.

"What?"

"Bruno will stay away from Blanca when he discovers she is not what she says." Eva explained, "I need you to reopen the case."

"I cannot do that. I am not going to help you this time mom." Jose disagreed

"Jose, your father's justice is more important than betraying Julieta or Bruno. You promised on his grave that you will find the murderer."

Jose stood up and thought about what Eva said. I cannot do this. Aurora may be innocent from all the charges. Eva rose and touched his shoulder from behind.

"You cannot go back on your promise now. I beg you, Jose. You are the only one who can help me bring down Angel Altamira. Bruno is too obsessed with the Altamira twins that he cannot go against him." She stood in front of him and cupped his face with both hands. "I trust you alone to bring justice to your father."

"But mom...

She placed her forefinger on his lips. "Do it for Juan Karlos, your father."

Jose was defeated. "I will call a friend from the FBI to help me. I may only find evidence that links Aurora and not Angel."

She threw herself in his arms. "You are your father's son." She let go and placed her hands on his shoulders with joy on her face. "Thank you, Jose Manuel."

He rolled his eyes. "When last have you called me Jose Manuel? You must be very happy."

"Yes I am." She walked past him. "I am going to kitchen to make pepperoni pizza. Come with me."

"I will be there in five. Allow me to make a short call."

"Don't take long." Eva said as she walked away.
