Who am I? (Tristan's POV)
—
I woke up with a sharp pain in my head. My body felt heavy, like it didn't belong to me. The world around me was blurry. I tried to sit up, but everything hurt.
A voice called my name.
“Tristan, you're awake.”
I turned my head slowly. A woman stood beside my bed, looking at me with a look of concern. But I didn't know her. I didn't even recognize her face.
“Who are you?” I asked, my voice shaky and weak.
“I'm Liana,” She said softly. “You've been out for days now. You're lucky to be alive.”
I tried to understand her words, but my mind was blur.
“What happened?” I asked.
“You were attacked by rogues,” Liana said. “They hurt you badly. But you fought them off. You’ve been unconscious for a while.”
Rogues? The word felt familiar, but nothing else made sense. I didn’t remember fighting anyone. I didn’t remember anything at all.
“Where am I?” I asked, struggling to sit up again.
“You’re in the medical camp,” Liana explained. “The pack brought you here after the attack.”
The pack. That word made me feel like I should know something, but it didn’t mean anything to me. I glanced around the room, trying to make sense of where I was, but it all looked unfamiliar.
I tried to push the fog out of my mind.
“Who am I?” I asked, feeling lost.
Liana looked at me carefully, like she didn’t know how to answer.
“You’re the Alpha,” she said. “You lead the pack.”
The Alpha. The word echoed in my mind, but it didn’t mean anything. Why couldn’t I remember?
I felt confused, like there was something important I was supposed to know. Something was missing, but I couldn’t figure out what it was.
Liana took a deep breath, as if preparing to say something important.
“There’s something you need to know,” she said slowly. “It’s about Aria.”
The name hit me like a sudden shock. Aria. I felt a strange twist in my chest. I should know her, but I didn’t. I couldn’t picture her face. I didn’t know who she was.
“Aria?” I repeated, my voice trembling. “Who is she?”
“She’s your mate,” Liana said, her voice cold. “Your Luna.”
Mate? Luna? I couldn’t remember any of it. I tried to push my thoughts together, but nothing came. Why did I feel like I should remember her?
“Your mate,” Liana continued, “betrayed you. She worked with the rogues. She wanted you dead.”
Betrayed me? The word hurt, but I didn’t understand why. I didn’t know who she was. I didn’t even know if I could trust what Liana was saying.
“I don’t remember her,” I said quietly. “I don’t remember anything.”
Liana’s eyes softened for a moment, but then she looked at me with anger.
“She’s dangerous. She planned the attack. She used the rogues to hurt you. You need to reject her, Tristan. You can’t let her destroy everything.”
Reject her. The words didn’t make sense. How could I reject someone I didn’t even remember?
“I can’t,” I said slowly. “I don’t know her.”
Liana expression was dead serious, her eyes flashing with frustration.
“You don’t remember her, but you have to act like you do. You can’t let her destroy the pack. She’s dangerous.”
I shook my head, feeling lost. I didn’t know who Aria was. I didn’t know what she had done. But something inside me felt like I should. I should know.
Liana looked at me for a moment before speaking again.
“You’re the Alpha. You have to make decisions. And you need to deal with her before it’s too late.”
I closed my eyes, feeling the weight of her words. The Alpha. That was me. I was supposed to lead. But I didn’t know how to lead when I couldn’t even remember who I was.
I stood up from the bed, but the room spun around me. I had to get out of there. I needed some air.
Liana didn’t stop me as I walked out, though I could feel her watching me.
The cold air outside hit me, and I took a deep breath. It didn’t help. My head still felt heavy, and the emptiness inside me didn’t go away.
I walked through the trees, the pain in my body still sharp. I didn’t know where I was going. I didn’t even know where to start. But the name Aria echoed in my head. I needed to know who she was. What she had done. Why I felt like I should remember her.
I walked for what felt like hours, my mind swirling with confusion, until I heard footsteps behind me. I spun around, ready for danger, but it wasn’t a threat. It was a man with a powerful figure, he introduced himself as Tobias, my beta. He stepped out of the shadows, his face serious but calm.
“Tristan,” Tobias said, his voice strong. “You’re awake.”
I nodded, trying to catch my breath.
“What’s going on? What did I miss?”
Tobias glanced at me, his eyes full of concern.
“You don’t remember much, do you?”
I shook my head.
“I can’t. My mind is a mess.”
Tobias sighed.
“You’re the Alpha, Tristan. We need to move forward. The pack is waiting for you.”
I closed my eyes, feeling overwhelmed.
“I don’t even know where to start.”
Tobias stepped closer.
“We’ll figure it out together. You’re not alone in this. But you need to take control. The pack needs you.”
The words felt heavy. I had to remember. I had to figure out who I was. And who Aria really was.
Tobias looked at me, his expression serious.
“Who is.. Aria?” I asked and Tobias gave me a dead look.
“Do you mean you don't remember anything at all?”
I shook my head.
“This is serious, we need a see the doctor and have him administer some medications to you.”
I nodded.
“Also, You need to talk to her. Aria. You need to face her.”
I nodded slowly.
“I don’t remember her. But I will.”
