Euodia was surprised to learn that the King and Queen were actually quite advanced in age, by her guess they should be in their late seventies. At the same time she seemed to realize why she felt the kingdom was weak, the king was apparently an old fox. Blizzard kingdom wasn’t weak, Euodia had learned earlier that the nobles in the capital city received fixed taxes from their fiefs outside it but they actually had no land rights plus they had no influence over the army. The only benefit of being a noble in the Capital city was the access they had to the Order Chamber, which meant that they could become one of the ruling powers of the kingdom if they could get many members of their family into prominent positions.
