Chapter Twelve.

1627 Words
Lauren. I helped Catie finish up her outdoor dollhouse after lunch where she asked me how long Corrie and I had been dating and I just told her not long which wasn't a lie. After we were done with the dollhouse, she said she was now tired and wanted to go to her room. She really looked and sounded fatigued cause she was even no longer lively or even asking questions so I put her to bed where she asked me if I would still be around by the time she woke up and I assured her I was going no where. I looked around for where Corrie may have gone to until I found him lying shirtless on the bed which I only saw cause the door was wide open meaning I wasn't snooping around. I imagined having to touch his chest but I stopped myself when I saw him turn and decided to go back and tidy the kitchen. I washed the dishes and wiped them and placed them right back where Catie had directed me to get them from earlier. I now had nothing left to do so I found myself staring at the family pictures that were hanged up in the living room. The man that I concluded may have been their dad looked familiar but I couldn't bring myself to remember where I had seen him and decided it wasn't important. I felt hands wrap around my waist that left me jerking but I eased up when I heard it was Corrie. "Did I mention you got me so sexed up when I first set my eyes on you this morning and the hair, I wonder why you don't wear it this way every f*****g single day." That's when I recalled I hadn't even seen how Jess had styled my hair. How did I even forget about it? "Did I mention anything you didn't like?" “No, on a contrary.” He almost didn't even let me finish cause I noticed he had swiveled me around and I was now facing him and he was still shirtless. I continued the ascent of my hands to his chest. "And did I mention, you should always move shirtless." I told him and that's when we had coughs from beside us. Catie had also woken up. He was still staring down at me like never before as though not noticing his sister. I decided he had a thing for leaving things unnoticed whenever he wanted to. I removed my hands from his chest and stepped back and told him maybe he should get a shirt on. He gave me a smirky look and turned on his heels. I turned to Catie who had a wide smile to her saying we looked cute together which if I hadn't lost count may have been the seventh time since we had arrived. "I'm going to eat the remaining pie right now if you don't mind." She asked still wearing her smile and when I told her she could have it, she smiled and told me she had seen most of it and she ran into the kitchen. I scurried after her as she increased her pace. She was such an adorable little girl. We later had dinner and watched movies where Catie slept off during the second movie and Corrie carried her to bed. I still didn't know where I was supposed to sleepso I decided to check where he had rested my bags and found they were in his room, okay in a room I figured was his cause that's where he had slept off earlier. So I waited for him to get out of Catie's room so that I could ask him where I was supposed to sleep. "I'm taking the couch so you can have the room." I told him he was so mistaken to think I could throw him out of his room in his own house. He just smiled then I thought he would argue of which I was ready for an argument but he didn't. He just said we would both have the room and I shouldn't even think about taking the couch if he can't have it and was gone into the room before I could even cook up a response. So I moved into the room after him and found he was already in the shower. Five minutes later, he was out and even dressed. Men. "I will step out to give you room to freshen up and do whatever the hell you girls do in the bathroom." And he was out again. This dude was something else. So I entered the bathroom and freshened up, did whatever it was boys thought we do in the bathroom and moved out. I checked for my pyjamas hoping Jess had recalled to pack them and of course she picked out the short ones. I was going to kill this girl. She had even refused me to check my own bagsbefore living claiming I would unpack and the hell she was so right. I had finally checked out my hair and she was still right, I would have dismantled it. I think she knew me so well then. Speak of the devil. She was was now calling. I said hello into the phone and she f*****g screeched into my ears. Her excitement was never gone. She said she was not going to take up my time any longer cause she knew something was yet to happen. I asked her what it was but she said it wasn't her story to tell and just like that she said good luck and hanged up on me. "I'm guessing you're ready so I can come in." Corrie said from the other side of the door. Dude didn't even wait for my answer as always. I guess he was really impatient around me like he claimed. "What do you say, you get out of bed and have a look at something in the kitchen for me? I will join you in a bit." I whispered an okay and got out of bed like he had indirectly requested. He also had a unique way with requests. So I reached the kitchen and was welcomed by a deafening flickering light that revealed a different word each time it appeared red. I moved closer to the source of the words so as to make sense of what the words said so it started over again revealing my name as the first word followed by you, Next came would, so after a series of flickers, I figured the words read Lauren, would you love to accept my request of having to share all my moments with you, be it sad happy or even far from the two followed by a heart that bore an arrow directing me to look up. I followed instructions and found a bouquet of roses which had a small card attached to it. It read would you love to be my girlfriend? I can't promise heaven but I can work towards making you the happiest smiley as long as I'm by your side. I felt tears run down down my cheeks and then I heard a sound from behind me so I looked back and noticed a kneeling Corrie with one knee down, a single white rose on one hand and a ring box on the other, I didn't know what to feel so i just broke down into tears and cooed a yes. He swept me off my feet and carried me back into the room onto a bed filled with flowers spelling out a thank you. I cried more into his chest as he placed me down, pressed his lips on mine. Whatever followed was a memory not even death could take away from me. I woke up the next morning to an excited Catie hitting me with pillows. "You promised me we would make cookies for breakfast." She repeated multiple times until I was finally out of bed. We later made cookies without Corrie where Catie told me he had said he would be back to pick us up for lunch so we had to get ready for a lunch outing. We ate the cookies with milk and Catie got dressed so did I cause Corrie had called saying he was almost here. He took us to a restaurant that wasn't so far away, one could actually even foot and got there in less than ten minutes. He had already made the orders so all we had to do was sit, eat and watch some band play. I watched Catie nibble on her food with so much excitement as if she was living her best life. Corrie just kept telling her stories to which she always giggled and continued with her food. "I will be right back." Corrie announced to Catie and I. Shortly, we noticed him holding a microphone when the band had stopped playing. "To the two most beautiful cuties in my life." He said into the microphone and started singing. I didn't imagine he sang so well when he had mentioned it to me. He asked us to join him and we sang along to all of me by John Legend. He hugged us after he was through with his singing and we got back to our lunch until it was time to leave. We went back to his place, Catie helped me pack as Corrie talked to his mum. Catie was already getting sad but I promised her I would visit her again. Corrie announced we were ready to go and just like that the weekend was done. My travel was really worthwhile.
