Episode 3: plan A
Author: Isabella Okemadu
Jack's grin faded as he started the interrogation, his eyes narrowing into slits. "Who's behind this?" he growled, slamming his fist on the table. The sound echoed through the dimly lit room, making the captive flinch.
The guy spat out a laugh, blood trickling from his lip. "You'll never find out," he sneered, his eyes flashing with defiance.
Miriam, aka Miya, had been watching from the shadows, her patience wearing thin. She stepped forward, her movements swift and deadly, and pulled out a gun. The barrel gleamed in the dim light as she aimed it at the captive's head.
The room fell silent, the only sound the soft click of the safety being disengaged. Jack's eyes widened, but he didn't try to stop her. He knew Miya's reputation, and he knew she wasn't bluffing.
The guy's smirk faltered, his eyes darting between Miya and the gun. For a moment, he looked almost... scared. But then, he seemed to remember something, and his expression hardened. "Do it, then," he spat.
Miya's finger tightened on the trigger, and the room erupted in a deafening blast. The guy's head snapped back, and he slumped forward, his body limp.
The silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with the weight of what they'd just done. Jack's eyes met Miya's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
The repercussions were immediate. The organization found out about their little stunt, and they weren't happy. They started going after Miya and her crew, taking Jack's brother hostage.
Jack was frantic. "We gotta get him back," he growled, pacing the room like a caged animal. "We can't just sit here and do nothing."
Miya's expression was cold, her eyes fixed on some point beyond the walls. "I have a plan," she said, her voice low and deadly. "Tell them we'll trade my hat for your brother."
Vanessa raised an eyebrow. "Your hat? What's so special about it?"
Miya's lips curved into a small smile. "It's not the hat, it's what's in it. I've been working on something, a little insurance policy. If they take the bait, we'll get Jack's brother back, and we'll get our foot in the door."
Jack's eyes narrowed. "What's the plan, exactly?"
Miya's smile grew wider. "Let's just say I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Or, rather, in my hat."
As they finalized their plan, the tension in the room was palpable. They knew the organization wouldn't go down without a fight, but Miya and her crew were ready. They were a team, a family, and they'd do whatever it took to protect each other.
The game was on, and Miya was ready to play. 😎
