Chapter 49

2860 Words

The moment I stepped out of the room, I was immediately welcomed by the commotion. Hunter was already fighting some Vlad while the other vampires tried to escape. I instinctively covered the boy's head as I rolled on the floor before jumping over one of the tables when I heard a sharp thing flying towards us. I looked up and saw the harpoon being pulled back to where it came from. I looked up and saw a woman wearing a crucifix on her wrist. She was from the same group that attacked Hunter and me at the hill; a nimrod. She smiled at me confidently as she wrapped the ropes of her harpoon around her hand. "Let that child go, and I'll let you off easily," she told me. The scent that she was giving off tells me that she was lying. She has all the intention to end me right here, right now.
