Her first day

Andrew led Carrisa to a garden where they will have a peaceful discussion without interruption.

Carrisa stood in awe of the beautiful of the garden.

How can a garden be this beautiful? Carrisa thought.

She was still taking a look at the garden when Andrew pointed an iron chair for her to sit.

“Please sit” He said and she did.

“This place looks so beautiful” Carrisa said.

“Thank you” he replied.

This is his personal chamber, he enjoys the serene.

“I have a rule booklet, you will receive it on your way out”.

“Rule booklet??” Carrisa asked.

“Yeah, I have a rule booklet for every employee in my mansion. You have to go through it and give me a feedback if you can abide by the rules”. Andrew said.

“Really.?”

“Yeah”.

“But why did you pick me to be your chief, I mean you don't even know me that well not to even talk of you even knowing if I can cook. So why me?” Carrisa asked.

“Let's leave that aside and discuss your pay”

“Okay”

“There is an official payment for my chief” Robert said.

“Yeah”

“You will be paid 5 million naira monthly” Andrew said.

He just lied, there is no official payment for any staff, and he doesn't pay his staff that much.

“5 million naira monthly!”

For a cheif?

“How do you… nevermind “ Carrisa said.

She wanted to ask how he cope with the payment when she remembered he is a billionaire.

“I think that will be the the end of our discussion, you will resume tomorrow” Andrew said and Carrisa nodded.

“You will be given the rule book on your way out”. Andrew added, getting on his feet.

“Thank you so much” Carrisa said bowing her head.

“Your welcome” Andrew said walking far into the garden.

She gazed admirable one more time before leaving the garden.

She quickly walked out of the garden and was given the booklet on her way out. She took a cab and got home.

“5 million monthly” Sharon said in disbelief.

“Yeah, I couldn't believe it”.

“OMG that's more than enough money to start up your restaurant”. Emma said happily.

“Yes!” Carrisa said with excitement.

“You see what I was saying, how would you have gotten this job if I did not take up the courage to call Robert that night”. Emma said whille giving Carrisa a sharp look.

“I'm really grateful for your concern and care, I will forever remain grateful to you”. Carrisa said whille moving forward to give Emma a hug.

“It's fine, but why did you not start immediately”. Emma asked and Carrisa laughed.

“I wanted to but I'm to resume after going through his rule book”.

“Rule booklet?” Carrisa asked.

“Yeah it's right here in my bag”. Carrisa said searching her bag.

She brought out the rule book.

“Mr Andrew made the rule himself?” Carrisa asked.

“Of course, he said it's a must for every employee to abide by the rules in the booklet”.

“Really, are the rule hard to keep?”. Emma asked with so much concern.

“I have not looked at it yet but I'm sure it won't be that difficult”. Carrisa assured Sharon.

“Anyways, I will be in the parlor, please freshen up and make sure you look at the booklet before you sleep.”. Emma said before walking out from the room.

*On no account must you bring visitors into the house without taking permission.

*Mr Robert room is out of bounds except if invited.

*Every meal must prepared and served on time.

*You must dress decently and always look neat at all times.

*You are not allowed to date any of your fellow colleagues here in this mansion.

*You must be courteous.

Carrisa sighed, the rules are less challenging than she taught.

Next morning

*How do I look?* Carrisa asked Emma.

“You look nice Carrisa”. Emma said.

She was ready to resume work, all she needed to do now was to get into the car Mr Andrew sent to her.

“God please help me, I don't want my boss to change towards me. I have been through a lot already, help me to abide by these rules and stay out of troubles”. Carrisa prayed before steeping outside to get into the car.

She just had to, she doesn't want what happened at her previous place of work to repeat itself.

“I wonder if he will keep sending cars to pick me up every morning”. Carrisa taught to herself.

Carrisa arrived at Andrew's mansion and she was awe at the sight of the mansion even if it wasn't her first time being there.

She was led in by one of the bodyguard and her beat panted so fast.

“Good morning” She said with a bow.

“I taught you weren't coming anymore”. Andrew said.

“I'm sorry I delayed the driver”. Carrisa said.

“It's fine”.

“Have you gone through the rule book” Andrew asked.

“Yes, sir”. Carrisa said with a bow.

“And?”. Andrew asked eagerly.

“I can cope with rules sir”. Carrisa said.

“And that means”. Andrew asked expectantly.

“I am ready to be your chief”. Carrisa said and she didn't notice how Andrew’s face lightened up.

“Congratulations on your new job, by tomorrow I will send the driver to get your things. You will be leaving here”. Andrew said.

Andrew couldn't really place why he was so excited in having Carrisa work in his house.

“Hope, I'm not falling for her”. Andrew thought.

“Max!, please show her to the kitchen”. Andrew said as he stood on his feet heading to his room when one of his workers stopped him.

“What's the problem”.

“Your mom is here”. The worker said.

“Is she alright, she's suppose to be in Italy for a business meeting”. Andrew thought.

“Mom, why are you here? Are you okay?.” Robert asked as he walked towards Mrs Ferdinand holding her on her shoulder.

“I'm fine son, the meeting was cancelled”. Mrs Ferdinand said.

“Okay” Andrew said with a sigh of relief.

Mrs Ferdinand was the only surviving person in his family. He lost his dad in a plane crash on his way to Italy, ever since then he grew so close to his mom and can't imagine loosing her.

“Who is this?” Mrs Ferdinand asked pointing at Carrisa.

“She's the girl I talked about, the one I wanted to employ as my chief “. Andrew explain.

“What!, the one you slept with?”. Mrs Ferdinand asked with her eyes wide open.

“Yes mom, I just feel pity for her and I really want to help her”. Andrew said.

“Impossible, I won't let that happen”. Mrs Ferdinand screamed.

Carrisa stood still watching the drama between Andrew and his mom. She wanted to cry but just had to hold herself.

“Do you want to continue your affair with my son in his house and then cook up a story that your pregnant to pin him down right?”

“You want to reap where you did not show, you this gold digger. That's your plan right?”. Mrs Ferdinand asked as she walked up to Emma.

“Mom, please stop this, I know what I'm doing okay. I'm not a child.” Andrew said as he started getting pissed by his mom's behavior.

“Oh please, keep that to your self. I won't let this nonsense happen”. Mrs Ferdinand said giving Emma a bad stir.

“I employed her to work for me, you have your own personal cheif. You don't have to eat her food, please just let her be”. Andrew pleaded.

“I won't let you have you way into my son's life”. Mrs Ferdinand said to Carrisa before leaving for her room.

“Ignore her okay, you are here to work for me and not her. Don't let this border you”. Andrew said to Emma before leaving to meet his mom in her room.

Carrisa just stood at the same spot, trying hard not to cry.

“Why am I always unlucky, everything just turns out bad for me everytime.” Carrisa said to herself as she let the tears slide down her cheek.

“Don't feel bad okay, Mrs Ferdinand is always like that especially when it comes to her son. She just too overprotective”. Sophia assured Carrisa.

Sophia is one of the maids in the mansion. She has worked in the mansion for years and she has gotten use to Mrs Ferdinand way already.

“Thank you”. Carrisa said to Sophia giving her a hug.

“You need to get to work now, come let me show you around”. Sophia said as she led the way.

Carrisa’s first day at work was going well not until what happened in the

morning between Andrew and his mom popped up in her mind. She became scared again.

“I just pray she likes me”. Carrisa said as she took off her clothes and got into the bathroom to have her bath.
