Chapter Three: Mated"Le- Leo," she whispers. She wraps her arms around his neck, hooking her knee partially around his hips to welcome him closer. She wants him, wants him to take her tonight so that nobody else can. Her mind is spinning and her heart is racing. His hands snake around her waist.
"That's right," he says. "I am an Alpha of my pack, and I promise to love and treasure you for the rest of your life."
"Leo…" she murmurs, shaken to her core. In all her life, she's never expected a wolf to speak so kindly to her. She wishes she could trust him. She frowns, scrunching up her face with displeasure.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she says, lowering her eyes so that he doesn't see in the lie in them.
