Chapter Ten: ListeningIt is early morning by the time Oliver returns. He waits by the window instead of heading off to work straight away, knowing that their different shifts mean the workers are probably waiting for him. He listens as the werewolf wakes the tired out girl from her sleep. "Baby, are you feeling alright?" he asks, checking her forehead for her temperature. "It's not like you to sleep in." She murmurs something unintelligible and he hears her snuggling deeper into the pillows. "Are you feeling feverish? You don't have a temperature," he says, fretting over her. "'m fine," she whimpers finally, leaning up to give him a noisy kiss, much like a child greeting a parent. He surges forward, deepening the kiss and turning it into something much less innocent.
