Chapter 18

Zara P.o.v

The guard came in and took me too another room where their boss Jones was waiting for me. They tie me to the chair, ‘now sweetheart you are going to give me information about your boyfriends business or you will pay dearly’ he tells me. ‘What the f**k are you talking about I know nothing about his business. He doesn’t talk about his business to me’ I said with venom in my tone. ‘No need to get feisty but this will hurt a bit’ he said as he burns my skin with his cigar. My screams encoded in the room. He tortured me to hours but got nothing out of me because I knew nothing. My body were so exhausted that I passed out, it went on for days. My body couldn’t take it anymore that I was thinking for ways to escape.

I woke up with bruises and burn marks on my body. I couldn’t take the tortured anymore I was alone with my subconscious ‘What day is it, how long have I been here, will someone rescue me, why did Ziano not come to rescue me, this he not love me, did he lie to me” I ask myself these question. I hear the door open and a guard throw a plate my way with water ‘eat’ he ordered me while leaving, I wanted to kill him. I looked at him like I would jump on him any moment. I look at the plate; I have not eaten in a while. I look at the stale bread, bake beans with small sausage in and the water that look like dish-wash water. I did not want to eat it but I got to keep my strength up. I started eating the food and I notice he gave me a silver fork. Big mistake i though, I took the fork and twist three tines and kept the one straight while I was busy picking the lock around my ankle. I heard a voice; I look around but saw no one and continue to pick the lock. I heard the voice again and this time it was clear, ‘Zara where are you my love’. The voice sound so hopeless so I said ‘hello anyone their’ and the voice called out ‘Zara is that you’, ‘yes it is me’ I said ‘ow moonpie how I miss hearing your voice’ the voice reply. ‘Ziano is that you’ I ask the voice, ‘yes my little kitten, please tell me where you are’ he answered thinking for myself how this is possible but i left the question for late when I’m with him.  ‘I don’t know Zia’ I answered, ‘what do you see’ he asks me. ‘I don’t know I’m in a room and here is only one window but it’s out of my reach’ I answered back. ‘Okay my love just stays put moonpie I will find you no matter what’ he finishes and his voice was gone. I continue picking the lock and few minutes later the lock was unlock. I took the lock off and then the chain that is around my ankle and ran to the door. I then pick the door lock and few minutes later it unlock. I stick my head out and saw there were no guards that it seems weird but that did not stop me. I stood in the hallway looking left and right thinking what way to go. I took the left and ran as fast as I could. The place was like a maze but finally I found an exit sign and ran, just then the guard saw me but it was too late because I was already out of the door. After that I did not stop. ‘ the prisoner is escaping’ the guards alert the other guards, next moment I heard people running and dog barking. The bushes blur my vision but I did not stop running. I ran for about 3 hours I think and still did not find a way out. I could still hear them coming behind me. I started to feel pain in my chest; I could feel my airways squeezing together. My heart beat increase but it did not stop me from getting away. I jump over stones, tree branches. I stop for a second to catch my breath but that was a wrong move because now I could see the guards approach me quicker. I started running again, my body felt like it can give in any moment because lack of sleep, food and my injuries but I refuses to give into my bodies demands so I continue running through the pain. The running has gone on for 5 hours now. While I was running i did not see the branch in front of me because of the lack of light I trip and broke my arm. I lay there in pain but the thought of going back to that place gave me the courage to stand up and keep running. The guards caught up with me but I did not let that stop me from getting away. As I was running I saw a road come into view. While my body was getting out of the bushes i saw cars approach and I saw Ziano’s face happy over took me but that happiness did not last long because as the cars got closer but  before the car could stop. I felt two sharp pain on my lower back and close to my heart. I look at Ziano as my body fall to the ground  i saw footsteps running my way as my body is being got into someones arms i open my eyes to see Ziano at my sight " baby please don't lease me" he cried out, Zack you and Zane go get the Jones, the two of you stay here and the rest of you go capture that man now" he ordered. he look at me again as i smile at him lifting my hand to his cheek ' I LOVE YOU Ziano Death" told him, i love you too Zara just don't leave me he said as tears fall from his face. i felt my body being picked up from the ground and got into something as i hear Ziano scream 'drive us to hospital no'.'stay with me baby' he whisper but darkness consume me.
