Akira stood alone in the dimly lit room, his eyes fixed on the door Lily had just exited through. He couldn't believe what he had just done. He had kissed her. Again and again, he had acted impulsively, without thinking through the consequences. He had promised himself he wouldn't get that close to her. But he couldn't help himself, drawn to her like a moth to flame.
He cursed himself, his fists clenched in frustration. "Foolish, Akira, foolish," he muttered to himself. He knew better than to let his emotions get the better of him, especially when it came to Lily. She was a threat, a potential danger to his pack and his very existence. Her powers were growing stronger by the day, and she was still so innocent, so unaware of what she was capable of.
He thought back to the look in her eyes, that innocent gaze that seemed to see right through him. She had no idea what she was, what she was capable of. She didn't know that she was a target, a pawn in a game she didn't even know she was playing. And yet, he was drawn to her, helpless to resist her pull. He wanted to protect her, to keep her safe.
Akira's mind raced with the implications. He knew he had to keep her close, to protect her from those who would seek to harm her, to exploit her powers for their own gain. He had to keep her safe, from the vampires who would seek to use her as a weapon, from other werewolves and from the humans who would seek to destroy her. He had to keep her safe, no matter the cost.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. He was trapped in a web of his own making, caught between his desire to protect Lily and his duty to protect his pack. And he had no idea how to escape. keeping her here meant danger to him and his pack but still he couldn't just let her go like that, he had to protect her no matter what it would cost him even if it would cost him his life.
