CHAPTER 14/ FURY IN HER EYES

Ryoka's mind raced with questions as she trekked through the forest, her paws carrying her towards her quarters with a sense of purpose. Why was Akira keeping a human in the pack in the first place? It made no sense, especially given their kind's natural animosity towards humans and even now that she posed as a threat to them. The very idea of it was absurd, and yet, Ryoka knew that Akira was not one to make rash decisions without a reason. There must be something more to this, something that she was not seeing.
As she walked, her thoughts turned to her childhood, to the days when she and Akira were inseparable. They had grown up together, played together, hunted together. They were meant to be mates, to rule the pack together. But Akira had never seen her that way, had never truly accepted her as his mate. And now, it seemed, he had found someone else. A human.
Her mind flashed back to her conversation with Akira earlier. She had seen the look in his eyes. He had feelings for the little human, and there was no doubt about it. Ryoka knew those looks in Akira's eyes, she had seen them before, and she knew that he was not one to hide his true intentions. He was smitten, and Ryoka's anger and jealousy burned hotter because of it.
Ryoka's eyes narrowed as she rounded a bend in the path, her gaze fixing on a figure sitting beneath a tree. Speak of the devil, she thought, her anger igniting. Lily, the human, sat calmly, her eyes fixed on some distant point. Ryoka's gaze never left her, her thoughts turning murderous. I'll make sure to kill her, she thought, her fury burning hot. Rip out her bones, one by one.
Her eyes blazed with intensity as she approached Lily, her movements silent and deliberate. She was a predator, and her prey was finally within reach. The human may have entranced Akira, but Ryoka would not be swayed. She would put an end to this farce, no matter what it took. Her paws flexed, her claws extending as she prepared to strike.
